@Kiki how are your faker quail doing? Did you ever hatch them??

Also, kind of random, but I’m super curious how big faker quail and/or regular quail would be next to my little bantams

They look similar size but I’m sure the quail are probably way smaller.

You don't want faker quail, trust me, they are nuts.

My two are insane.

what do ya'll feed them? Any differences in brooding/hatching/raising them than chickens?

I grind the feed in a spice grinder until they're a couple weeks old though. I'm just using chick starter on mine right now but I change them to regular crumbles when they go out to the outdoor pens. My pens are 24" tall and about 6 sq. ft. in each pen. Rabbit wire 1/2" hardware cloth on the bottom, sides & top, with dirt pans & flower pots for their use to dust, dig & lay in.

i set the hg coturnix and pheasant thursday evening and myshire yesterday......

How many HGs?
How many Myshire?

It's easier for me to just ask again than dig.

1 didn’t pip
12 hatched, and running around.

What happened to the 4 pipped/bloody?

I have a new set of eggs that just arrived today. I'm going to fire up my second mini-bator to finish my current hatch. There are only 11 eggs left to hatch.

I promise I'll stay on top of things again.
