➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Hi! I’m new to this thread! I just hatched 2 little quail today, not my first bunch but my first few in a while. I’m starting out small to get some room for them and when I’m ready I’ll be getting a lot more! Had some issues with both. First was malpositioned and stuck for 24 hours, head at the pointed end of the egg. Had to assist hatching, came out great is is healthy. Second was shrink wrapped but was able to peep first, got stuck and was pushing but no force was exerted and membrane wasn’t broken. Assisted very little, he was eager to push right on out!!

They seem to like whistling better than whispering. :lau :gig
That's true...they respond to a whistle more readily than a whisper. Handling them is different than other quail or even other types of birds. Picking them up from the side, instead of from overhead, makes a big difference on how they will respond to being handled.

Chocolate chip is the best kind for sure!!!

And oatmeal raisin is the worst. :lau

Mostly because of the betrayal one feels when you THINK it’s chocolate chip and then it turns out to be a raisin. 😭🤮
Glasses would help in that scenario!
