look for chick feeders. We got (scammed) a baby chicken feeder and waterer that is good for 2 weeks for chickens. Working great for quail babies. Mad when we got it. And we got our money's worth out of it.My 10 Buttons are a week old today. I've tried to find a very small feeder online and in the store and I failed. They are making a mess with the lids I am currently using and it is super annoying.
The cutting holes in a plastic tub works great! Can't go wrong with the price either.look for chick feeders. We got (scammed) a baby chicken feeder and waterer that is good for 2 weeks for chickens. Working great for quail babies. Mad when we got it. And we got our money's worth out of it.
It's still in with the 8 week olds. Time to transition them to a big bird feeder. I use the no waste design and cut holes in the side of a 1 quart cottage cheese tub. Or sour creme. Working good and toss them once filthy.

I use the supposedly disposable plastic containers from ziploc, as well as soup containers from Chinese food (it hurts me to throw things out lol) I cut holes in the sides, and I have several different sizes for different ages. Occasionally I find one standing in the bowl cheeping like a lunatic, I swear they can dislocate and reconfigure their shoulders to get in there lol, chicks are so squishy.Great idea! I am going to try this where their heads fit in but not their butts!
Careful. I used a pint yogurt container that they couldn't get into. Well, they played clown car and packed that thing full. Lost several because I didn't have enough air holes in it. I don't use these for chicks because the heads are the same size as the butts, hence the lids, canned food flats and the store bought little miniature feeder.I use the supposedly disposable plastic containers from ziploc, as well as soup containers from Chinese food (it hurts me to throw things out lol) I cut holes in the sides, and I have several different sizes for different ages. If you make one with small holes, and then make a different one with larger holes for as they grow, they should be fine, Iāve never had more than 1 inside before. Usually itās one whoās really small. But I use lids as bowls for 2-3 days, then they get ziploc bowl with holes size small, next up is Chinese food container, holes size medium, last is ziploc holes size large. I use containers that are about 4 inches wide and 3-4 inches tall, however many quarts or pints that is, not sure. As they get bigger, I have a small Chinese food container that usually comes with sweet and sour sauce in it, I fill it with sand and put it on top of the feed container so they donāt knock it over.Careful. The tall skinny ones tip over and make a mess. That is why I like the quart sized containers.
Suicidal little guys.
