➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Okay ladies, remind me again how long to give a chick to hatch before helping?? This baby is doing his best but he’s popping out about half way down the egg so he’s struggling a bit. He’s been at it for about an hour…clearly not yet, but how long would you wait?
That one looks like it needs help, but remember, the ones that have trouble hatching usually have troubles for reasons. If it were just pipped, I'd give it 24 hours. With that one, it's clearly trying to zip. In my experience if you help it, it has about a 25% chance of making it.

Okay yeah, they pipped yesterday so it’s not likely going to make it :-( it still has the umbilical cord attached…with yolk and blood…so I’m letting it be now. I’m assuming it won’t make it poor baby :-(

It happens. Like I said, most of the time if they're having trouble hatching there are reasons.

I've been wanting this incubator for about 6 months. It's not exactly an impulse buy. I just bought it a bit sooner than I was planning on.

Hopefully I'll be able to sell all of the chicks!
Think how much trouble you could get into with a cabinet incubator and double stacking the trays.
