might i suggest game hens for the soul purpose of hatching eggs separate from your other birds. They're always willing and able and will never quit.Have I ever mentioned how much I hate broodies??!?We were finally catching back up on our orders but every single time one goes broody, or in my case two every time, all the hens stop laying.
We don’t want to hatch, I would love our broodies if we did. We have a small incubator to occasionally hatch but most often we sell eating eggs, and hatching eggs.
Hopefully you have a couple wire bottom cages you can put them in broody jail immediately so they resume laying sooner than later. This time of year, a broody hen will probably molt and may not resume laying till after winter solstice.Have I ever mentioned how much I hate broodies??!?

You are fine! I would love game hens, or silikes even, if we wanted broodies. Our two monster broodies who have both gone 4 times this year are Cuckoo Marans and both are awful mothers.
