➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

So I've been spending my time lately creating articles for the chicken laws of cities, towns, and villages throughout WI that have not already been completed. :)
So far I have completed three.
I decided to do my own city (technically not my actual city as I live in another village but close enough). Turns out, we have ZERO actual ordinances about the keeping of chickens EVEN THOUGH my friend was forced to get rid of hers because 'she's not allowed to have chickens'. Right.... show me the proof boys.
BUT what we DO have in place are laws that allow the keeping of wolf-dog hybrids but ban pit-bulls and 'any dog expressing the looks or characteristics of any breed of dog breed classified as a form of pit bull' :he
And further more there is not a fine to keep dogs and cats that are not rendered sterile but there is a fine to keep or produce malt liquor.
Like, what?? Get your priorities straight.

Imbecile. :barnie
You'd think she'd just birthed a child while still in school. But no, she has a chick (god only knows where in the world she only got one) that she doesn't even know how to care for.

I would LOVE to know where this idiot got her information. I can't even fathom how such bad information and knowledge could exist.
You are making the mistake of believing the poster. Those posts are being made specifically to annoy or agitate. It is very unlikely that there is any truth in any of her posts.

They better work. :flI picked those.
Very brave girl!:bow

The Village of DeForest has a chicken ordinance allowing up to 6hens on residential property that was enacted fairly easily in 2015 when I went to the council meeting with a few others in support. I believe the neighboring town of Windsor prohibits residential chicken keeping. Its a patchwork!

Sadly, some like KDogs link to 'pet chicken owners unite', I believe they are sincere - which is a little more scary imo.

Ordinances are funny like that. They're also pretty hard to enforce which is probably why they're so willy-nilly from town to town.
I'll never understand banning roosters but allowing people to keep dogs that bark ALL NIGHT LONG.
In all fairness to the breed banning, almost all fatal dog attacks in the US are pit bulls or pit bull mixes (along with a healthy number of German Shepherds). This includes fatal attacks on other animals (cats/dogs/livestock), not just humans.
Personally, I own a pit bull and I love her, but after she passes, I will NEVER own another. I am not stating that they are all bad dogs. They aren't, but they shouldn't be passed off at rescue organizations as friendly family dogs. They are not a "beginner" breed.
I think I better start up a malt liquor practice here in Western Washington and see what happens...
