@littleprairieheartsfarm does this chick look like a boy, or girl, or still too early to tell? The one front center. It's the Brahma rooster chick I ordered to hopefully complete my trio. The other two chicks are a blue Wyandotte pullet and a silver laced cockeral who was supposed to be a pullet. The Brahma is two weeks younger than the others.

Well, her abdomen is swollen and she is sleeping in the nest box for the 3rd night. Fiddlesticks. 18 months old. These Leghorns are a short lived breed. I was hoping for 2 summers.

Kiki - are you putting lights on the quail to keep them laying all winter? December 22nd is the shortest day of the year. I'm thinking quail eggs in mid January for a spring batch and set eggs all summer. But if you don't add light, I'll have to wait.

I figure I only need 12 pens for my plans.
Time for a new plan, Stan.

I think they are going to lay all winter even if I don't add lights. My chickens laid their first winter.

I agree it was unprofessional. Unfortunately, I prefer to avoid conflict at all costs so I just left and did my best to avoid both of them for the rest of the day.

I got the stupid assignment turned in. Now I'm too upset and embarrassed to tell him that I finished it, which is apparently what I'm supposed to be doing even though that wasn't communicated to me (overhead from my parents discussing the email).

Honestly, I feel like the adults are talking about me behind my back but just expecting me to know what they want me to do without telling me anything. Like some stupid scavenger hunt that I didn't want to be a part of. I'm just ranting now, sorry. You guys are literally the only people in my life who even so much as give me the time of day.

try to finish your assignments on time next time.

HS sucks and then you graduate and you go to college and you realize how bad HS sucked. Just hang in there and do your best to get through it. You will rise above this situation (and others like it to come). Life is karma and that situation will come back around. As a "mature" RN, I'm starting to see some of my grade school and HS teachers (that caused me issues) come in as patients and life has not been so kind to them.
