➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Luna is spending a good chunk of the day on the side with the young duck. She has really taken to her. I'm glad she made a friend. She keeps going to the fence line to Noah and does her head bobbing and weaving but he is not interested yet. Although I swear I have seen him bob his head with her and it's almost like he goes, "crap! I'm supposed to still be mad at you. stop being nice to me!" and he will stop. It's kind of funny. The last time I took the dogs outside to potty and play, I walked over to check on everyone and check to see if we had any more eggs. I'm still only getting 3-4 one day, usually 2 the next, then 3-4, then 2. that seems to be the pattern. I'll be glad once production picks up again. I still haven't gotten another duck egg. It's been since Dec 28th, so almost 2 weeks. And I saw Bowie have his way with one of the big girls. Unfortunately when he was done, the big girl was still squatted flat on the ground, Amber thought he was attacking her so she jumped on her head. UGH! I'm like Amber! Noooo, don't do that! These animals are something else.

Hello everybody, I'm back!
I hope you all had a great Christmas and a happy new year!
I'm okay, nothing terrible happened to me. I just was super busy and had a case of the winter blues.
I'll put my goings-on under here
As most of you know my brother and his wife just had a baby in July, well Leeana had just enough maternal leave and vacation time to take 12 weeks off. She went back to teaching and I pitched in the help baby-sitting Riley. The plan was to only spend a couple hours a few days a week pitching in amongst the whole family. That didn't happen.
My brother's job voluntold him to work 12+ hours 6 days a week to cover some of the other engineers as they went on vacation. My sister got a promotion, so she was unavailable, her husband just got a new job so he was out. My father is useless with babies and my mother works long hours. Her sister, also a school teacher, is a single mother of two rambunctious boys, and her mother, like my own, works long hours.
So that just left me.
Of course that also meant that I've been working 12 hours a night all weekend and then turning around and working during the day all week. I've been so exhausted. Everytime she sleeps, I sleep.
On top of that one of the people at work quit without notice and I was one of the only two people in the factory that knows how to run his machine. But since it had been over a year since I had touched the machine I also had to squeeze some time out of my sleep schedule to come in during the week to retrain.
So every minute I can, I've been sleeping. Even during winter break, I've just not been up to do anything hence the winter blues. I've just been lounging around to lazy to do anything.
My brother, because of the way this job has treated him, is on the hunt for a new job. They have tried to find a daycare, but the ones they found have either been on wait list or untrustworthy. So they asked me if I can watch her on a more permanent bases until Leeana quits her job at the end of the school year.
I said yes, so I'm turning in my two week notice in on Monday. I had already planned on giving notice anyway because I want to change my career to either social work or human resources so it wasn't that big a deal for me.
Hopefully soon I won't feel so tired and can interact more with y'all.
Oh and out of my six girls, four are laying.
Awww. I’m so glad you’re back, if not just to say hi. I’m sorry for your winter blues, that’s never fun, but you sound like such a blessing to your family. I’m glad you’re able to revisit your career path without too much stress.
Get lots of rest, everyone will be here when life eases up on you!

Hey now, you saw me as a drugged up cyborg, I think anything is fair game.

I was just gonna mention your impeccable taste in chocolate and blankets. :love
You can say what ever you want. I don't care.
Lol
