➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I found a site and ordered seeds. Info indicates it could be three years for the shrubs to bear fruit. I'll keep you posted. :gig:lau:gig

The fresh berries work just fine. The tabs are much much cheaper to buy if you want to try it. And far easier to find.
I think the berries effects don't last as long.
I added grapes and blueberries to the garden this past fall. The "magic" berries will have to go inside here during the winter so I'll have to use a big planting pot.

Oh wow! Lol berries sounded pretty good, huh? :lau

Let us know how it goes!

Ahhh okay. That makes sense. Wait... taxes are already taken out? That sounds so much easier! Maybe I should just get a regular job lol
It's taken out in a way. When you join a 'real job' you are given a form to fill out that has your expected tax exemptions and deductions. This 'controls' how much money gets taken out as taxes.

The goal is to take out as close to what you will owe as possible. If when filling time comes, it shows that you owe money, than you aren't taking enough out on the form, if it shows some huge refund, then the government is taking out too much. People seem to get excited over getting a big refund check, but what they don't seem to realize is that it's not the government giving them free money. It's the government returning money that you already worked hard for and earned, and they had used as a free loan.
I never thought of it like that before. That is a long time to learn. Thank you! That makes me feel better lol Maybe I will do it after all. But I also don’t know if I’m organized enough for it, all the record keeping and such

That sounds fun! Lol I’ve heard food industry and retail suck though? Idk if that’s true. But they do always seem to be having the most fun lol it would be kinda nice to just be able to clock in and clock out and just be done with it/also be able to have fun or make friends on the job or stand there (some jobs) as opposed to my own business, constantly worrying about or keeping track of something even when I’m not working lol

If I did both, I could make soooo much money lol
There are tons of apps that can help you track and organize your business spending. You just mostly take pictures of the receipts. Unlike a couple decades ago, where you'd have a shoe box full of receipts you'd have to sift through and record come tax time. The online programs (such as what I use, turbo tax) guide you step by step though each tax category and make it really simple.

Let me tell you a secret about 'real jobs', food industry/retail or otherwise. It all depends on your attitude. If you go into every job you take and decide to put forth and give your best effort and have a positive attitude, you will enjoy your experience or vice versa.
You will always get coworkers who will love to complain about everything and anything and you will be tempted to join in and grumble along with them, don't.
Job satisfaction is an internal thing, that's why you'll find people doing jobs that will make you cringe that truly enjoy what they do and others who have 'dream' jobs that are more sour in attitude than a century pickle.

Unless you get some monster boss or co worker. Know your own worth as a person. If you are ever in a job where the people make you extremely uncomfortable, quit. Some people stay at jobs far longer then they should because they are scared of the job search or are toughing it out, thinking it might get better. If you're really unhappy, don't be afraid to get out of a situation.
I've worked all kinds of jobs, from McDonald's to a doctor's office to manufacturing. AMC theaters was my favorite (free popcorn and movies) and Kroger's was my least liked. At the end of the day, you just preform a task and get paid.

So sore this morning! :th
Hubby and his brother have been making new sorting pens beside the loading/working chute by the barn. I helped the "boys" set pipe fence yesterday.
We mixed and poured concrete into the three foot deep holes filled with the vertical pipes. They had already partially filled those holes with chunks of broken concrete to hold the pipes upright. I was the "go for" hauling water for the concrete, getting the level and removing the empty bags, etc.
Then we started on the funnel/pen in front of the barn. While they did a little welding on the H post to add supports for the gate, I measured and marked the location of the pipe holes for the funnel. They used a post hole auger drill on the tractor for the holes. I raked back the dirt and clay. Then helped set up the poles in these holes and they are now sighted in and level for the concrete we will mix and pour today.
It has been a long time since I have swung a sledge hammer to bust old concrete and crawled around holes placing chunks of concrete around the vertical pipes. :old

And to make it a chicken post..:jumpy..those birds had great fun scratching thru all that raised dirt and clay looking for tidbits. They were underfoot moving in and out around equipment. Even had to rescue a banty rooster that dropped into one of the 3 foot deep X 12 inch holes!

That soreness is the best kind.

Sounds exhausting! Very productive, though. I hope the work continues to go well.

Have you switched over to normal people sleeping hours yet?
Ish. I have to get up way earlier than I would like. But I can nap when Riley naps so it evens out in the end. She has found her feet this week and rolled over for the first time yesterday. When is she supposed to do that cute babbling thing again? She just screams at the top of her lungs for now.
