So sore this morning!

Hubby and his brother have been making new sorting pens beside the loading/working chute by the barn. I helped the "boys" set pipe fence yesterday.
We mixed and poured concrete into the three foot deep holes filled with the vertical pipes. They had already partially filled those holes with chunks of broken concrete to hold the pipes upright. I was the "go for" hauling water for the concrete, getting the level and removing the empty bags, etc.
Then we started on the funnel/pen in front of the barn. While they did a little welding on the H post to add supports for the gate, I measured and marked the location of the pipe holes for the funnel. They used a post hole auger drill on the tractor for the holes. I raked back the dirt and clay. Then helped set up the poles in these holes and they are now sighted in and level for the concrete we will mix and pour today.
It has been a long time since I have swung a sledge hammer to bust old concrete and crawled around holes placing chunks of concrete around the vertical pipes.
And to make it a chicken post..

..those birds had great fun scratching thru all that raised dirt and clay looking for tidbits. They were underfoot moving in and out around equipment. Even had to rescue a banty rooster that dropped into one of the 3 foot deep X 12 inch holes!
