➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

She'd have called it a sissy drink and grabbed some vodka. :gig

(Shut up, dear, I know fine well that your alcohol preferences are more towards whiskey or beer. Won't stop me.)
Also, this. I would have called it a sissy drink, drank it, then moved on to the good stuff.

Have been chilling since all chores and dishes were done since 8:30 pm ...catching up and laughing at the banter.

Proud of your accomplishments today @KDOGG331 . Sorry about your side hurting. Sound like the punch tiller will be a welcome addition to the tool arsenal!
Eggplant are temperamental. Get new seed and replant. Or buy a couple of starter plants at your local Atwoods or Tractor Supply. They should bear nicely into the fall.

Measured and cut the roofing for the coops...will nail it down tomorrow. Did get all the coop repairs completed.
Had to take pictures of the birds in each pen. May post a few after I load them on my computer.

Tomorrow Ruby gets her rabies shots, annual shots and check up in the morning. Going to have them cut her toe nails too. Crazy dog won't let me cut them. I'm taking her harness and muzzle just in case. She can wiggle out of her collar in a heartbeat. And she nipped the girl at PetSmart last visit. I had taken her muzzle but they didn't want to use it.

The new kitty earned some barn cred yesterday by catching and killing a vole. But, then she did this for long enough that my kids came in laughing to get my phone so they could video her:

Oh, and she put it on the doormat when she finally finished. You know, in case any of us wanted a turn.
Love the video! We lost our barn kitty this past month. Saw the first mouse in the barn today. Need to find me a Jett

We put Priscilla back out with the others today. She has a very minor limp still from whatever tenderness is there but for the most part she healed up nicely. The first thing she did when we took her back out there was go up in the coop to the nest box and lay an egg. Then she's just been foraging all day with the others. We'll keep an eye on her overt he next couple of days to make sure everything continues to go well.

On a totally dif subject, my sweet bell peppers, lavender, thyme and rosemary is ruined. I started the seeds and they were germinating and hanging out in this little greenhouse type thing and we had some storms come thru last night and the wind has been awful today. It was anchored down but not good enough I guess. The wind sent it toppling on its side and everything got upended.:barnie So I guess I get to buy more and try again. :he
Glad Priscilla is much improved. Sorry about your plants.

Awww, she's a little slayer. :love Black kitties are such deadly hunters. Did your family have a game of catch with the offering?

Glad Priscilla is much improved. Sorry about your plants.

Thank you!! It is a little better now that it’s been a while and now that I showered with the hot water. I am hoping that some rest will help it and I’ll be fine tomorrow :fl

And yes, I am thinking it definitely will be!! Thinking I will either borrow theirs or buy my own or I may even just rent or buy an electric one haha anything other than tearing up my back. But for now I might just borrow theirs so I can get my peas planted as it is getting pretty late.

And thanks, I will have to do that if nothing sprouts but I am hoping it will :fl I just planted them today and so I’m hoping they’ll be fine. I think the mat just takes a while to warm up. It is reading the right temp now that I moved the tray down a bit to the warmer part of the mat. The mat is a bit small though or my trays are too big so now that I moved it down, one end of the tray isn’t on the mat so no heat but it’s only like one or two rows and tomatoes so I think they will be fine. They always sprout with no heat ha but anyway, I was reading that eggplants take a long time to encourage them to come to life and to plant them like 8-10 weeks before the last frost or even sometimes 12 so I am hoping it is not too late... just started them today and it’s pretty close to the frost date so we will see :fl but I can always keep them indoors a little longer if they aren’t ready to transplant. We don’t really eat very many eggplants anyway. I am hoping the peppers and tomatoes at least will be ready to transplant. But I think this is the latest I have started anything ha idk why as I had the trays bought and set up a while ago. But oh well. I can always buy started plants but I’m hoping something takes. Especially as most of these are either organic or heirloom or historic varieties or a combination of the 3. I do have more seeds though, I only planted maybe 12 (2 rows) of each so I can put more in other trays. Although I only have the one seed mat like mentioned so I probably should have made a tray entirely of eggplant so they can have the heat... but oh well. Might buy another mat tomorrow. Need to go buy a bucket for the chicken waterer anyway. But we will see if I actually do that. Want to do some more stuff here too and I do have to work tomorrow so we will see if I have time or what I end up doing. But maybe I will go while I am out. But for now I am going to sleep haha
