➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

It was not one of my better moments.

So far there are 7 ducklings pipped in lockdown.

I have a set of eggs due to hatch April 27.
Another hatch is due May 2.
My friend gave me 12 Delaware Bantam eggs so I set them this evening along with 25 layer eggs from under hens, 4 Serama eggs and 37 eggs from my Columbian Wyandotte = 78 eggs due May 14. I candled the Layer eggs to see development. They will hatch before May 14.
I'm going to be busy.

Planted the sweet potatoes today and checked the potato bed...they are peeking up thru the soil now.
Need to get an area ready for the okra soon.
Still have flower beds to do too.

None of the bunnies I processed made any sounds at all.

Same. Ours were silent. It was very fast. Whack to the head, then a throat slit.

All 9 new ducklings are in the nic unit to rest and dry off.
We have a blue, a yellow (Pekin or Saxony) and several crosses. Active little webbies!

Flowers in the garden ... Find the hubby photo bomb?


and the gopher killer...metal flex pipe from the exhaust runs into the tunnel. Metal plate keeps the dirt mound from collapsing into the hole. This gopher won't pull another tomato plant underground!


Loved these hens in action in a hay bale. The red hen came out of the hay draped over the rail.
