➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Ah okay that makes sense. And yeah idk. They can definitely be annoying but my new iPhone takes great pictures lol it’s amazing. But I definitely think investing in a camera is more worth it.
It is. My camera is over ten years old and still works like the day I bought it.

I ditched my landline a few years ago after the fees got too expensive. We have terrible cell service, though, so I use a flip for emergencies and making appointments only. I have made maybe three social calls in the last year. Everyone I know and want to keep in touch with has an E-mail address so I have no reason to make regular phone calls like I once did.

I have a camera I got a few years ago but have never used it

And oh wow!!

I have this flower pot that I tried to plant strawberries in last year. They didn’t grow. I even used started plants. Those Japanese beetles and whatever else just destroyed them. I think I planted them too late in the year maybe? Anyway... I totally forgot about the pot. It has been in the yard, by my front porch, not touched all yr long. Again, totally forgot about it. Pulled it out of the weeds and set it aside. Looked at it and thought, what is growing in this thing? Hey, that looks like strawberry plants. Hardy little things! If nothing else, looks like I will have some fresh strawberries this yr. I’m excited! :celebrate

Wow so you have to pay twice!? That stinks!! Do you have a cell or other way for people to call?

And SMH stands for Shaking My Head!

And yeah, it’s been a weird year for weather!! I still haven’t planted my peas yet  and was worried it was too late but maybe it’s not with the weird weather we have been having!!

And I definitely need to do some weeding! Or borrow DB’s tiller lol

Yes, two different companies. Hubby has his original flip phone and I have a Samsung.
Computer has Windows 7....need to get some higher level since Windows won't support "7" after 1/2020.
AT&T is available in Shawnee, but not in Meeker....just 11 miles away. Cable is Vyve...we don't bundle the phone, but do the Internet.

Yes, in your temperate zone you could still plant your peas.....or wait and plant a fall crop.

Not necessarily. I could just not respond lol no one would know the difference. But that said, I really don’t see it all that often anyway. Only a couple times in a thread or article or something. So it’s not like I see it all the time or anything. Although I guess that makes it even less of a big deal to correct it. It takes like 2 seconds I guess. If I see it I guess I will but I don’t really see it very much anyway. And I am sure there are plenty of other people who will! Like you guys! :p jk. If I see it I guess I will. But I also don’t really see why it is such a big deal. It’s technically another thing sure but they’re all kind of related and most people know what you mean when you say it. Not like calling a cat a dog or something.

lol good idea! Autocorrect really annoys me. It is constantly trying to correct words that are right!!! It just thinks I mean something different and I am like NO! I DON’T! And have to go back and change it to what I originally had. The whole farting instead of darting incident was a prime example! Why would I want FARTING!?!?! :barnie But it changed it to that and made me sound like an idiot lol I can understand if a word is spelled wrong then sure correct it but when it changes what I typed because it thinks I want something else!? :rant:barnie If I wanted that I would have just typed that!! :barnie:rant:smack:mad: VERY annoying lol

But sorry for the rant :lau

And lol that’s true I guess but I never call kangaroos Roos lol
Autocorrect is the worst! I have gotten myself into some big trouble with autocorrect. There was a really hilarious one on this thread about a year ago...I still laugh at how terrible it was. :lau:gig

I haven't had any chicken go broody ever. My mom had an "Australorp" that was always broody and laid chocolate brown eggs (hence the quotes, I swear she was part Marans).

You also missed where I admitted to committing this crime against language myself... :lau I can't plead ignorance, I just don't always care enough.
My cochin is ALWAYS broody! Her and my silkie both. They share one nest box and brood together. I go out there daily to take them out of the box and make sure they eat & drink. I might actually have to bring her in for a bit because I took her out of the coop yesterday and my Barred Rock started picking on her.
That reminds me... how can I decipher what is normal broodiness or sickness? She has no other symptoms. At least I don't think. Still learning.
I have a wicked dust mite allergy. The sort of reaction where the doctor suggested that I choose my home carefully -- no carpet, no curtains, allergy barriers on mattresses and pillows, etc. I do what I can to minimize exposure.

So, there will never be a chicken in my house for more than an absolutely essential and temporary visit. Like the injured chick that stayed in the kids' shower for a few hours. Other than that, no way, no how.

Those with a more normal response to dust can choose differently. I don't care, really. I just see nothing but benefits to putting them out.

When I brought home my chicks last year, I had NO IDEA that they produced dust, period!! Call me stupid, but truly, nobody warned me. I kept changing the air filters and pulling out vents to find out why my office was COVERED in dust. It was driving me crazy. I finally hired a housekeeper to come in and help me keep up on it because I just didn't have the time to dust every single day! :th
Little did I know, it was just the chickens and I could have put them in the garage and not flushed a million dollars down the toilet.

It really is the worst!! So annoying!! I had it turned off for a while but then I’m like, well I like the word suggestions and some other stuff and it saves me time by automatically correcting the words that are wrong so I turned it back on but it annoys me lol and OMG! Wish I had seen that :lau

Wow that sounds like a real pain in the butt!! Lol and I am lucky we have good cable and internet here and in fact, we have two companies in the area to choose from lol

And that’s good to know! Thanks! I could wait but I was hoping to be able to eat them in the summer with my other veggies but am just a major procrastinator....

Stop using computers/mobile devices for a while. It's amazing how much you can get done when not tied to a screen. ;)
