➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

She is old enough that she grew up with a land line only. Lots of people just assume that everyone has a mobile phone just like there was a time when people thought that everyone had a computer. I still know people that don't have a computer or any wireless devices.

Oh wow she should know better then!! Lol but I guess it’s just hard for some people to believe that some haven’t kept up with the times so speak and gotten a cell phone. But some people just plain don’t want to lol and I totally understand that. But wow really!? None at all!?

@KDOGG331 — Am I missing something (I'm sure I must be), but I thought the chicks were going to the coop first thing with the MHP. I have mine outside in an open air brooder with their MHP, and they are doing great! It's fairly warm during the day, but it's been getting down to freezing at night.

If someone tries to text me, it never gets here. My land line does not accept texts and it is the only phone I have. One of my nieces asked my brother why I never reply to her texts. He told her about my phone. I guess she did not believe him because the last time she was here, she asked me why I never reply to her texts and I just pointed at the phone hanging on the wall. She replied "Oh!"
I've actually been considering downgrading my stupid "smart" phone, and just buying a nice camera and an old school flip phone instead. Current phone is from 2012, and I refuse to buy a new one until it explodes or something.

Well they were going to be but then I wanted to keep them in for a day or two to make sure they were okay after shipping and now I’m just paranoid to put them out with how little they are lol

I forgot how small they are at that age :lau

But I am thinking I will put them out soon.

Wow surprised it still works! Usually they make apps stop working and stop letting you update so you’re forced to buy a new one lol

It barely works. I don't use the internet on it. I get text messages and phone calls. I use the camera, but I honestly think I'm over the whole smart phone thing. I'd rather spend my monies on a sweet camera than drop another several hundred dollars on a stupid phone.

Ah okay that makes sense. And yeah idk. They can definitely be annoying but my new iPhone takes great pictures lol it’s amazing. But I definitely think investing in a camera is more worth it.

We still have a landline and in the country have one company for local calls and another for the long distance. Will be dropping that $60 a month soon....only kept it for the aging parents to call us.
Sister didn't have a cell phone until my brother got her one last year...she rarely uses it. She used to write accounting programs fixes for computers!

As for texting abbreviations....what does "smh" stand for....showing my lack on using abbr.

We are having the same weather issues @KDOGG331 .
The benefit is the moisture has made it easier for me to pull the weeds in the flower beds and garden boxes.

Wow so you have to pay twice!? That stinks!! Do you have a cell or other way for people to call?

And SMH stands for Shaking My Head!

And yeah, it’s been a weird year for weather!! I still haven’t planted my peas yet  and was worried it was too late but maybe it’s not with the weird weather we have been having!!

And I definitely need to do some weeding! Or borrow DB’s tiller lol

Good Morning all you lovely people! :caf DH has been gone all this week on business so it's just been my son and I here. He'll be home tonight. :woot I can manage everything around here with the animals and whatnot but boy will I be glad when he is back. The littles are doing great and growing like crazy. I swear they are currently in a growth spurt. Jasmine's feathers are still.. eh. She is still fuzzy soft but they don't look as "frizzled" as they did since they've gotten longer.

She still has quite the "bustle" feathers (as I call them. The bump of feathers on the backside by the tail. Not sure what they are technically called) and her tail feathers still look "frayed" and funky to me though.

I'm still watching her as she develops. No I haven't reached out to Meyer.
My Blue Ameraucana, Violet, is FINALLY getting in her fluffy cheeks. I was getting worried because my EE's were born with fluffy cheeks. Violet didn't. Even according to Meyer's website, "Ameraucanas always have both beards and muffs" and poor Violet still looked like this:

as of April 16th.
A week later she started looking like this:

I was like, ooh, I am starting to see some cheeks!
And this was yesterday:

She is filling out very nicely. :love
I went to lock up the chickens for the night last night and I always open the door and look inside to make sure everyone is accounted for. I open the big coop and I'm counting, 1, 2, 3, etc. Ok, all 8 are here.. what the....?!? In the corner, underneath the roost bars is a little dark brown fluff. Sunny! What are you doing in here? The chick flew over and out of the 4ft tall fence that I have around the littles coop and since she couldn't find her way back in, she decided that she would join the big girls and boys in the big coop. I called her over to me and picked her up and took her back to her flock mates in the little coop. I wish I would've gotten a pic of her. Such a stinker! :smack

On a non-chicken related subject. My son has his graduation rehearsal this morning and the big day is tomorrow. :celebrate Graduating Magna Cum Laude (would've been Summa Cum Laude if they took GPAs after the final semester but they take them beforehand. Missed it by [this] much lol) and with double degrees, an AS and a A.A.S. He is still debating on whether or not he wants to continue his education, if he wants to pursue employment, or go in to the Military. He's just not sure which branch. I am such a proud momma! :love
