➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I can’t just throw all my devices in the trash. They’re expensive. And I can’t go tech free. I need internet access for my job so I can’t post pictures of the dogs and promote myself.

Yeah I know  I still haven’t fixed it

But I’ve been better in a lot of other areas. This is next.
Every little bit helps. Add a new goal every week. And keep up the old goals.

Chasing the fox was good. They need to be afraid of people. Now you have a reason to get in shape. So you can chase the fox.

Thanks. I feel like it does but then I see some stuff and think maybe it’s not and I should be doing way more.

And yeah, this guy is totally not ha we’ve been having issues for like at least a couple months. At first he was jumping on top of the run, he would climb on the ramp box then jump up on top and walk across the wire and terrify the girls. Now he just comes and walks by without checking them out, probably to be sure nothing is available, and sometimes he walks up and checks them out. But before he was coming by at least a few times a week whereas now I think it’s every day. Lately he’s been coming around multiple times a day. I’m a bit nervous having the chicks out there. I think he knows there’s new babies. Probably smells them or hears the quieter peeps and chirps. I shut the pop door tonight. We usually leave it open and it was open last night (first time the littles were out) but he was around 3 times today. Well, 2 confirmed. The first time he had just come out of the woods, he was still right on the edge of the woods but in the yard, and was just frozen, slinking/stalking towards the coop. And he did run when I chased him. Just took off into the woods behind the coop. Then he came back around 7:30 or 8. Not that long after. Only maybe a few hours. And then this time when I just went out to check the chicks around 10:15, I swear I saw two beady little eyes about fox height just inside the woods when my phone flashlight shined on them. I said get! But quieter cause it was after 10pm and whatever it was disappeared which made me think it was the fox or at least something living and it just a reflection after all. So then I went in and got a brighter flashlight and shined it all around and banged some heavy metal patio chairs on the deck a bit. It was already long gone but I was scared to go over there so did that first. And they were fine and all went under by themselves tonight apparently. But after seeing that fox again I decided to just close the pop door. I am not 100% sure it was him but what else would it be? He is also the only one that waits in the woods like that. Sometimes when my dad goes outside he just retreats back a little bit in the woods and waits until he really moves toward him/yells then he takes off. Sometimes he wouldn’t even jump off the run when he first went out till he got closer. Dang thing is super brazen and does not seem afraid at all. Just extremely determined to get a chicken. Although I will say he runs when I go out there. Probably because I run out screaming and waving and clapping my hands and really chasing him and shouting at the top of my lungs like a crazy person!! :lau wonder what the neighbors think. :lau  I’m like GET!! GET OUT OF HERE!! GET!! Screaming at him and chasing him. But clearly it’s not working. Want to give him a stinger with the BB gun or get a paintball gun or airsoft gun.

It gets little black cherries that are somewhat astringent and are prized for jellies, syrup and wine. All of the birds love them. I never get any because the birds pick them all one to two days before they are ripe. The Kingbirds are the funniest because after they eat the cherry they go sit on a high place and you can watch them regurgitate the seed.
Hah! Any photos of the Kingbirds spitting seeds? That would be a sight to behold.

Our rain didn't really start until 5 am, but storms west of us were spawning tornadoes in Oklahoma around 11 pm.
Tornadoes in NW Texas were numerous!
Flooding from Texas into Okla and Kansas.
Hope everyone is safe!
We have 2.5 inches already with more coming...on top of 4.8 we got this weekend...ponds are overflowing and creeks are rolling. The ducks love it, but chickens don't.
I sure love these power knocking, pasture/shop flooding, tornado spawning storms. Reminds me of when I lived in Kansas. The red river was actually a river when I drove over it last weekend! I haven’t seen it that full in years!

In all fairness, Dorothy, one expects a tornado or two in Kansas...

On another note, good to hear from you! How goes the house hunting?

Psh it’s not the tornadoes that worry me, for fun I used to watch for them out of my windows/front porch (reminder that I was a young pup still! Woot parenting skills more like woot listening skills) whenever we’d go under a warning and hear the sirens. I’m just tired of the constant mud! Ducks/goose love the mud. It’s a lose-win situation.

I will have a definite answer tomorrow for the house hunting. ;) I took my last final today! Didn’t do so hot in my chem class this semester, but it doesn’t help that my professor would give us questions that weren’t even covered.

Woohoo! Hope you guys found something awesome. Looking forward to good news.

Weren’t any of them online or in the book or something? That does seem weird
His online homework correlated with absolutely nothing he taught (he even acknowledged this but said it’s too bad), and the book wasn’t even a part of the curriculum. It’s not that big of a deal. If I need to retake the class later on, then I will. I had way too much going on this semester, it just got overwhelming.
