➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

@Texas Kiki there is a quail with black and white markings. I’ll get a better picture this afternoon.

I did get the new lings in. One DOA and one died within 24 hours so I have three new girls for the harem. I just need to grow them out. I’ll get pics of them too. I sure hope the hatchery got the sexing right!

What breed of ducklings did you order? More Pekin or a different breed?

Something has gotten to me. I am so itchy. :barnie I took a 24hr Allergy pill, which I had stopped doing since all of the budding and blooming was mostly over. I also took 1/2 of a Benedryl. :he I know better. Am so mad at myself.
The Mini and I both are suffering with this dumb allergy crap. I wish it would just go away already.

Dressed like a total dork this morning but hoping it will help with the ticks :lau

I actually did the socks over pants thing yesterday but still got one on my back so trying the shirt tucked in thing today too.

What would really help is some bug spray/deet but I keep forgetting to grab some.

But I have literally gotten 3-4 ticks this weekend so far.

All the rain this year has created double bloom times for pollen and has increased mold counts.

Our storm situation has made national news. Most schools have cancelled classes and activities for today. In 2013 a smaller but similar storm situation spawned a tornado that hit Moore Okla hitting several schools and killed children. No one is taking chances this time.
The event will run into the midnight hours...I hate night time tornadoes!
Hail up to softball size with 5-7 inches of rain predicted in our area.
We have battened down the hatches, fed and watered every pen, filled all outside water tanks, have drawn up water in the house and I have a stocked larder. All batteries are charged and the go bags are ready.
Changed hubby's dr appt since the worst of the storm will begin in our area when we would have been heading out.

Picked peas and am shelling now...while we wait for the storm.

We take B complex with vitamin c (has a high dose of thiamine) to help ward off mosquitoes and ticks. Hubby gets huge blistered whelps that weep for weeks from tick bites. This has really helped.
