With a Fitbit?
I'll compete. :pop
The employer-sponsored one isn't something I can invite others into. But, there are plenty of Fitbit competitions if you want to play.

What's your Fitbit username? I'll add you to my "friends" list and then I can invite you to challenges there.

BTW, I had a Charge HR that hubby won at work but it died a sad and premature death. Hubby had registered it but then left it sitting in a drawer until it was well out of warranty. I called anyway since I only got six months of actual use out of it. They sent me a coupon code that let me get ~70% off my new one.

I have one of those but I never really use it lol

Woot! This is an app on your phone?

Yeah it’s just the Health app on my iPhone. I think it came with the phone. Works pretty well I think but idk.

A watch like device worn on the wrist to make you feel guilty for sitting down. Can be addictive to obsessive personalities. Always striving for higher and higher numbers in a vain attempt to be the fit-bit-est.

The fitbit is connected to the world and tracks your every move. Literally. Really helps private investigators and intelligence operatives. Or so I'm told...

That is true. So many people are obsessed with the “steps” thing instead of going for more hikes or walks or something haha

And that’s true. But phones track too ha

This thing?
I picked it up the other day in the Kroger's Easter clearance section.
I haven't even taken it out of the bag yet.

Nice

I wear mine on my ankle nowadays. Can't cheat that way.
:D

LOL they say arm movements can sometimes trick it

Yes...it kills me to read one post extra before I reply.
:th

:lau

I had one till it stopped working right. There were times I would walk up and down the hallway right before bed to get those extra steps to reach a milestone.

I used to too lol

I was told the ankle makes people accustomed to electronic monitors more comfortable. Gives them a reassuring feeling. Is there something you want to tell us? :D

It'll be our little secret.

:lau

If it's under a year old they will replace it for free. Call them...they can look up when you bought it by your email address.

I gotta find mine lol

Stopped working. I was told they tend to lie. Usually followed by the person who was so proud of it, stopping talking and wearing it.

Crazy Lady threatened to get me one. "It's a good idea", she said... :lau

We agreed to disagree.

:lau

LOL
I have never placed asked to assume the position.

:lau

I've worn the Mini's and mine at the same time to compare how they count.
I have also counted steps in my head a million times while walking with it.
It is much more accurate on the ankle.

Huh. May have to try that lol

I have one, it was a gift. The tracking stuff is a little creepy but I'm an insufferable data nerd so my love for the tidy charts it outputs outweighs that. It's not, however, connected in any way to a GPS. That option gets a strong nope from me.

True but everything tracks anyway lol

Looks like a cool thing

According to google...

The fitbit app will act as your GPS tracker. Just saying, leave your phone at home if you are … um … well, not expecting any calls.

I don’t like walking without it. Not safe. Hah

I don't have a mobile phone. I put the application on a tablet that doesn't leave the house and I have the security settings as locked down as I can get them.

I have never liked making phone calls, so with the advent of the Internet I took the option of changing the bulk of my communication to E-mail based. I don't know anybody I want to talk to urgently enough to bother carrying a phone around.

No phone at all!? Omg

:lau Me too, obviously! :gig

:lau

I just can't do it no matter how many times I try.

:lau

I tried the customer assistance route back when it stopped working several years ago. I was told it was my fault and it needed a new battery. The thing was, I had replaced the battery the month before. It would randomly just stop working, screen completely blank. It was supposed to notify me when it got low and never did. I could take the battery out and put it back in, and it would work again, showing that it had at least a partial charge. Since the customer service people were full of bs and I was tired of my steps not counting, I just stopped using it.

Wow that is definitely bs lol sorry!

google fit app on the phone works well.. and it's free

Might try that one.

Yeah, but if you use the phone, "they" can track you, because the phones have gps. It's really creepy to think about. The fit bit I had was the smallest one that clips on to a pocket or waistband.

True but they track you anyway lol

yep if you have a cell phone your being tracked

Exactly!! Ha even if you turn the GPS off they can still triangulate when it pings off the cell phone towers

I can tell them apart now!
