I've ordered from them 3 times. Never more than 9 chicks and I've never gotten nuts but it might be because I'm so close or probably because I ordered during the summer.

I can't wait to see them.

I won't be keeping all of them. Most will go to my parents or in-laws eventually. But I get to raise all of them for the first couple weeks while they are tiny and cute and fun
And the Orloffs and Faverolles will be mine permanently.

They say they add them "if they feel it is necessary." Since the order is for mid June, I really don't think they will need extras. But I am going to call just in case. I do NOT want to deal with boys!!!

Can I ask how your experience was with Ideal? This is my first time mail ordering chicks and I am a little nervous. Any tips appreciated

I won't order from anyone else.
Zero complaints.
They hatch And ship out on Wednesdays. I would guess you should have them by Thursday.
You aren't too far from me right?

Glad to hear it! And yes, we are pretty close (Central New Mexico). I picked Ideal largely because they are one of the closest major hatcheries. Privett is the closest but I didn't like their policies or their breed selection as much. Plus I remembered some of the people on this thread talking about ordering from Ideal. I just couldn't remember who.
