➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I haven't had a chance to catch up from the past few days so am a bit behind but I will when I have a better chance to do so. I just couldn't wait to tell y'all tho... Lookie at what we got today!

A sweet little pullet egg! :celebrate And I was surprised to see the first egg come from Jasmine, my BCM. She is the one that we had to baby because she had the prolapsed vent issues when she was a born. My hubby went out there and checked her vent to make sure everything looked ok and she is good. A few others are squatting so maybe more will be along before too much longer. What is a weird coincidence is the fact that every single batch of my chickens have had a first time layer lay their egg at 18 weeks old. Every single time. And to the day even! I thought that was a couple weeks early? Not for my chickens I guess. Now that is not to say that they still don't have to work out any kinks in their laying system to become laying regularly. And Jasmine and all of the others will be 18 weeks old tomorrow. I can't wait until I get that first blue/green egg! :ya

Also, since it's been a bit. The ducklings are growing like crazy! They will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. They have gotten so big and they LOVE their pool. I still have to remove Noah from the area for them to be out tho. And now Xena has started chasing them and running them off of wherever they happen to be. I'm not sure why. So we are going tweak some things and fence off a section to where we can let them out but Noah and Xena can't get to them, yet they can all be in the same "territory". That way we don't have to keep putting Noah, and sometimes Xena, over the fence with the chickens. Because Noah can be a butthead and chase/harass the chickens which is not good either. We're working it all out.

:hugs They'll be in my thoughts. How is he doing with this news?
The oncologist told him he would have 4 months without treatment, but could possibly have a year with treatment. He is discussing his options of going naturally or taking chemo. This is the first time he has cried...reality sucks! Chemo and radiation last time made him really sick and that was just the lungs. He was determined to be one of the 15%. Three locations treated at the same time will really be difficult. Sister suggested he at least begin the chemo and take it one step at a time. Colonoscopy is the 22nd. Then chemo will begin.

Ohhh NanaKat I am so sorry. :hit Words just can’t do justice to what I am feeling in my heart so forgive the simplicity. I will keep y’all in my prayers. :hugs:hugs:hugs

Am I nauseous because I haven’t drunken enough water or because I’ve drunken too much water???? A saga. :lau

I think it’s the latter from tons of water and almost no food all day. But I just ate a little more and sat down and am feeling a little bit better. But about to stand up and go back in the crowd in a second haha

We are all fine, even the chickens. They were all out today looking for bugs and worms that popped out after the rain. No flooding, just nasty storms on and off.
How did you fair, looked like you got some rain as well.
I'm glad to hear this.

We just got a sprinkle once yesterday. Nothing to talk about.

Thank you. "Prayer is the key to Heaven".

Just hanging out in the shade.
