Ah, that’s another thing. If your horses get into the chicken feed/scratch and eat a lot of it..? That’s a whole ‘nother vet cost and still leaves the chance of a severely ill horse with crippled feet, since it’s toxic to them. So they have to be separated from the chickens/chicken feed.
And I honestly have the worst sense of size, especially when it comes to pictures so unless I can be there and walk the property I can’t gauge how large it is.![]()
That makes sense! I think I read something about that actually or maybe that was with goats? Seems to apply to horses though? Anyway, separating them wouldn’t really be a problem. I don’t really let them free range much anymore so they’re in the pen. And I don’t keep the food in the pen anymore cause the chipmunks were eating it all. So it’s inside the coop now. And the feed is stored in one of those gamma pet storage things, the plastic big with the spin lid thing, in a plastic shed thing next to the coop. So unless the horse can get inside a coop or inside the shed, it wouldn’t be able to get the feed. But that said, I probably wouldn’t even have them anywhere near the back anyway. They would probably be in that huge bowl in the front and/or up on the hill. I just included the back just cause I was trying to include everything/every possible piece of grass haha
And that’s okay!! That makes total sense. Probably hard for anyone to tell from pictures. But I’ve just always wanted to have a horse or two on there haha but it seems that is a horrible idea.
