➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Nah, I just dislike auditory media in general. I basically ditched phones as soon as I was able to use e-mail for all my personal communication. Something about having to learn information without any associated visual input is nearly impossible for me.
I find it much easier to decipher misspelled words, bad grammar and auto correct than to try to figure out what someone is saying if I can't see their lips.

The Mex is just now fixing to go shopping.
:th
i’m a known procrastinator but there’s nothing that would get me to go shopping this week!! DS and DH wanted carry-out food tonight so DS had to go pick it up!! Last-minute groceries were taken care of via click-list and shopping was amazon!! I vowed to not shop after we witnessed a near riot in the click list line before Thanksgiving!:th

Exactly. If I have to listen to a talk or something and it has dedicated rather than automatically generated subtitles I'll often turn off the speakers and read the subtitles instead.

i have this picture in my head that you live way off the beaten path, so i’m having a really difficult time imagining how someone ran through your fence!!
They did not run through the fence, they ran into the fence.

I live on the corner. The main road runs past my property on the east side. The street I live on runs past the north side. Fortunately there is a very large right of way on the east side so that despite all the wrecks that happen, none of them have hit that fence yet. On the north side the right of way is fairly narrow. Someone drove off of the road during the night and hugged the fence with their vehicle for approximately 60'. In the process they broke off 3 fence posts. I have not been able to determine whether they were going east or west at the time. I suppose there are 3 options. One the driver was drunk. Two the driver fell asleep at the wheel or three, it was done intentionally which could have tied in with number one.

Whatever happened the person responsible did a hit and run.

It is @BantyChooks that lives off the beaten path. I am only 3 miles from the Interstate highway.

I used to do takeout orders over the phone at a restaurant. Getting the food order correct was pretty easy. The menu wasn’t very big and I knew it by heart so it wasn’t hard to figure out what was being said. But getting names correct was almost impossible for me. Too many options. I was just guessing in the dark.

I have a beaten path fairly close by, actually. See?

that’s horrible that they didn’t even own up to it!! and to break off 3 posts, it’s a wonder the vehicle was still driveable!! after googling, glad to know it wasn’t a rogue skiier!:th

@honanbm which episode of that history one do you recommend I start with? I started with some other history podcast and it was pretty good and incorporated some humor or whatever which I do like but he kinda jumped around a bit/was hard to follow/was a bit too dramatic. Like to try a more serious one haha
Ghosts of the Ostfront is a really good one. Plus, the Rome one, but it's old, and I'm not sure how accessible it is anymore.
