There are 4 new Sweetgrass poults crawling around and sliming the other eggs in the incubator this morning. Guess I better get busy and finish setting up the brooder.

Hubby has a virtual dr appt this morning at 10:30. He and his brother are feeding the orphan bottle calf and checking the four herds before it.
I'm going to transplant the seedlings and then after his appt will go set out the squash, cucumbers and the purchased tomatoes and peppers. I need to mow at the farm house and the garden then bring the mower back to the rent house.

Where the hens were fighting over the nest yesterday, I tossed another fake egg about 3 feet away. Now there are two hens sitting on two different nests to lay their eggs today.

Sweetgrass poult #5 has arrived. It was fully zipped when I went to get the brooder ready. It is out now and not even close to the egg it hatched from. The brooder is heating up and drying out the fresh sand now.

I've got a Cochin thinking about nesting. Now her Cochin sis has started joining her. I keep chasing them out of the nesting box. Should I build each a special house and try them on some fake eggs, or would that be likely to work at all?

The hatch is progressing. There are now 10 Sweetgrass poults and two Rose Comb Legbar pullets.
