Oh, a good hour and a half away -- I live in the boonies.
The farm used in California is in Sonoma county. The further away from there the harder is to have a good hatch rate. I bough mine in Davis on a Tuesday and picked the freshest Julian Dates. Someone in Santa Barbara got two per dozen to hatch. I got 17 out of 24 eggs to hatch.

I have heard that the Redding CA trader Joe's does not carry fertile eggs.

Whole foods is an option too
 
Say Kiki how are you setting up the incubator in regards to humidity?

The first 24 days is considered the incubation period. I don’t add any water at all in the incubator for this time period. You shouldn’t have to unless you are in an extremely dry part of the country with very low humidity below 50%
