Oh, a good hour and a half away -- I live in the boonies.

The farm used in California is in Sonoma county. The further away from there the harder is to have a good hatch rate. I bough mine in Davis on a Tuesday and picked the freshest Julian Dates. Someone in Santa Barbara got two per dozen to hatch. I got 17 out of 24 eggs to hatch.

I have heard that the Redding CA trader Joe's does not carry fertile eggs.

Whole foods is an option too

I have not added any water nor do I plan to until lockdown.

My house was right at 40% when I plugged the bator in.
I didn't think is was actually going to get down as low as it has in the bator.

The first 24 days is considered the incubation period. I don’t add any water at all in the incubator for this time period. You shouldn’t have to unless you are in an extremely dry part of the country with very low humidity below 50%

I was not planning to add any water at all until lock down but now I'm thinking I better not let it get lower than 15% in there.
