➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

@WVduckchick get back here!

Hurry before I dirty my drawers.

It’s got a good sized air cell, so it’s ok for a bit, probably a good 24 hours from when it broke the membrane into the air cell. That’s not at all uncommon for it to be in the air cell for a whole day without making an external pip. We usually don’t see this part, when we don’t candle every day :p
(That’s the worst part about daily candling, I think it makes us more impatient)

But a nice small safety hole can calm you down at any time. Practice on a fridge egg. Just enough of a pin hole to allow it to get some external air to not suffocate.

I need to go watch your candling video again and see it’s positioning.

I'm sure he is bound to be backwards and upside down.
I saw this internal (for sure) pip late last night.

I threw caution to the wind and let some parent birds out this morning. I ihad realized what a crazy day members are having i might have not.

When injured my cat headed for the nearest bushes to hide. Wishing you the best in finding yours. They are very tough. :hugs
I agree that cats arw tough. My 10yr old cat got into a tussel with a coyote many years ago. All that came of it was a nick in his ear.

Just rewatched the video. Looks fine, seriously. The way they fold up in there is unreal. The back of the neck is in the low part of the air cell end, it’s butt is in the opposite end. From looking at the egg toward the air cell end, it’s back is along the bottom, the neck coming toward the air cell, bent to the left, head bends back toward the center and up. Face/beak wraps back around under the right wing, toward the air.
