➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Ok, I finally saw the light...when the light bulb in my head went on...
This is happening each day right now? Right?
I will continue to follow this eggciting egg saga unfold, with all of you... :pop

I have 3 Serama eggs out of 9 that were still coming along. Waiting and hoping they hatch... Been so careful with them...
This is day 18, in lockdown. :weeI also have been up and down all hours for the past 17 days, candling, checking humidity and temps.
Now watching for the pipping... :jumpy

Glad to have your thread to watch as I wait... :thumbsup

Why don't you just sit on eggs till they hatch.Trust me after a few hours sitting on duck eggs you will start sweating that will create plenty of humidity
I'm thinking I might cut a hole on the bottom of the bator and set it on top of this Vicks steam thing. Let me ask Google what the heck this thing is really called. Brb

I just tried to sit on the rack to smash it down some. :yesss:

I'm trying to figure out a better way to up the humidity. Don't laugh...I haven't even woke up enough to brush my teeth.View attachment 1311583

This stupid refrigerator hose is dumb. I think I need to find something else....and soon.
Hey, whatever you can get to works... I McGyver things all the time...
What if you have the humidifier lower then run the hose in the bottom or lower side of the incubator you made, put through that, steam rises to it will just flow into the egg chamber. Just a thought.. :)

Also, get a small misting spray bottle of distilled water keep it warm. I put mine near a heat vent in the house. Always ready to use.(If you don't have distilled, just boil sterilize some water then cool for the water spray.)
Each time you candle the eggs mist the eggs and inside of the foam chamber. You will see the humidity rise.
Just don't want it super high. I find misting threw vent hold keeps my humidity level without overdoing it...
Been incubating eggs a while. It works for me. Since I am always looking in any way... :thumbsup
I have been keeping my humidity between 65-69% for lockdown. Let it dry a bit before adding another misting. I get nervous when it spikes goes to 75-78%. So I watch and open a vent if it does. Till it comes down a bit again. It is nerve-wracking, I want a dry pipping, not have water in the air chamber.

So your eggs will be fine less can be more, during the lockdown phase. So don't over think it, you are doing great!!! :highfive:
