That's easy. You painted them. Chickens only lay brown eggs that turn white when cleaned to get the butt juice off. QED

I have had 3 broodies this year, 2 i switched golf balls for turkey eggs at night. the 3 rd one I put them in just as she was coming back from break. she got into an empty nest and gave me the stink eye. when i gave her 6 turkey eggs she was purring and seemed very happy to get more and bigger eggsMy current mama hen definitely noticed when I gave her new eggs. I waited till she took her daily break, then took away the 4 medium sized tan eggs she had been sitting on and replaced them with the 10 large blue eggs I had bought. Poor thing finished her break and went back into her little broody coop. Stopped dead in her tracks in front of her nest and stared at it. Turned around and ran back down her ramp into the run. Ran around in the run raising a fuss for a few minutes then went back in the house to stare at the eggs some more. In the end though she couldn’t resisted the siren call of a full nest. Climbed in and behaved beautifully all through the the incubation and hatch.
