➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

They had a good five hour drive from the factory and say on the store shelf's for a good whole day before I rescued them.

I had a broody duck hen leave her eggs for a couple days, then i brought them inside for another day before putting them in my incubator. Several still hatched.

By the way, Metzer Farms once incubated and hatched their own balut eggs.

Thanks. Yes we know. We did quite a bit of balut researching a few months ago.

I've read about this with some other members too. Seems ducks do better with cooler temps than chicken eggs.



I've gotten lucky because I have tried this a few times and haven't been able to bring the baluts back from their road trip nap.
Only the very first time and this time have they come back to life.

I can't remember for sure but I did email one large hatchery...it might have been Metzer to question them about their balut. I need to go look for that email.

My malpo just like it didn't make it very long.
