Alright. Hubby felt so bad that he hunted through thick forest to find her body. Somehow he found her.
I don’t know how I haven’t scared that boy off yet.

I cut her open, not sure what to think of what I found. Not sure if you guys want to see it or not? I could make a new thread if not?

I don't buy paper towels for our household.
We don't use them.

I think they are a waste of money...we use washable dish towel things to dry out hands and such.

I can't imagine a world without paper towels.
We use them for EVERYTHING!

No, I triple checked. She could poop perfectly fine, although I only saw her poop once.

Dark spider web veins coming from an unhealed umbilical scream blood infection to me. That’s all I can really think of, just a weak chick with the start of an infection. Maybe I’m wrong, I’m not sure.

The veins higher up on the yolk that are thick and red look fine though.

I find it fascinating as well.
I can’t get over how my husband thought I would be too upset to handle it. He definitely wasn’t expecting me to ask for the body back lol.

OMG! That's hysterical!!!

My Cayugas are SOOOOO loud!!!! Like, insanely loud. My Magpie hen is very quiet, my Welsh Harlequin hen is very quiet, my Rouen is an in betweener and the Cayugas SCREAMERS. I will say that they are amazing layers though and I love duck eggs too much to ever go without them again

Good to know! I don't know what a Magpie hen is. Gotta go look those up.

@Ursuline Chick im so sorry about your cockerels. Seem like such nice birds to have to be sent to freezer camp. And if I were ready to accommodate a fellow( and not about to go on vacation) I would've taken at least one.

You’re probably right.
I guess I just didn’t like the look of the scab, looked very raw and a little angry around the edges.
