➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Alright. Hubby felt so bad that he hunted through thick forest to find her body. Somehow he found her.
I don’t know how I haven’t scared that boy off yet.

I cut her open, not sure what to think of what I found. Not sure if you guys want to see it or not? I could make a new thread if not?
I want to see!

No, I triple checked. She could poop perfectly fine, although I only saw her poop once.

Dark spider web veins coming from an unhealed umbilical scream blood infection to me. That’s all I can really think of, just a weak chick with the start of an infection. Maybe I’m wrong, I’m not sure.

The veins higher up on the yolk that are thick and red look fine though.

I find it fascinating as well.
I can’t get over how my husband thought I would be too upset to handle it. He definitely wasn’t expecting me to ask for the body back lol.
I asked if I freaked him out, he said “if you were gonna scare me off you would’ve done it when you sawed that raccoons head off when we were dating.”
Hey, I wanted the skull.

I’ve really gotta ask him not to “take care of things” for me in the future..
:popthis thread keeps getting more interesting.

We have two Cayuga hens. :)

Oh geeze. Sorry, I must've read that funny, like you'd get Cayuga's next time... I must be slower than normal today.

:lauOMG! That's hysterical!!! :gig

My Cayugas are SOOOOO loud!!!! Like, insanely loud. My Magpie hen is very quiet, my Welsh Harlequin hen is very quiet, my Rouen is an in betweener and the Cayugas SCREAMERS. I will say that they are amazing layers though and I love duck eggs too much to ever go without them again :)

Good to know!:thumbsup I don't know what a Magpie hen is. Gotta go look those up.

I want to see!
I did! Post #11813
:gig

I love how that little yellow chick has its little wings propped up like that. :love

@Ursuline Chick im so sorry about your cockerels. Seem like such nice birds to have to be sent to freezer camp. And if I were ready to accommodate a fellow( and not about to go on vacation) I would've taken at least one.

@Tesumph very sorry about your chick.
I didn’t even notice her little wings propped up. :love

Last photo from last night and first photo of today.
