@Tesumph I will agree with @Ursuline Chick and say you should try target shooting if you never have. Try different guns. You may still not like it; it's not for everyone. You may be surprised to find you quite enjoy it. Think of it as a skill worth learning, better to know how and never need to. Just my opinion. I did not grow up with guns in the household, never even had shot a BB gun, then went shooting as an adult with a friend whose mother was a sheriff and the whole situation felt safe and controlled and I had a competent instructor. I was far less intimidated after that. I definitely recommend finding the right person to teach you if you are inclined to learn. Over time it quite unexpectedly grew into a hobby I enjoy, though I do not hunt, am admittedly a vegetarian, and the only things I kill are the things that my cat or dogs bring me that are suffering and not quite dead yet.

*I am in no way trying to start a debate about morality and/or gun ownership. What's right for every person and their family is different. I'm simply saying if you choose to learn to shoot it should be done in a safe and controlled environment and that anyone who might want to use a gun should learn to do so safely and responsibly. This is one situation where "with rum" probably doesn't make it better ;)
Agree, totally. :highfive:

Right, it seems as if carry classes (which vary state to state) are only about laws. There is an NRA certified instructor teaching a women's only clinic here in a few weeks, no gun ownership or experience necessary to participate. I feel this could be a positive experience.
Would highly recommend, if you are interested. :highfive: And to each his own, each must do what is best for them and their family.

Yep, totally agree!
I’ve gone to gun ranges and shot at targets though, it’s not my thing. I’ve grown up around guns, both for practical ranching purposes and with those who collect them as “toys.”
I will shoot to put an animal down if there’s no one else around who knows how to, but that’s about it.

They don’t intimidate me, I just find them obnoxious, like fireworks and crowds.
:idunno

Haha! We also only have one coop and run, but this is the first chickens I’ve had in a while. Was your original intention to sell them or were you always wanting to keep them?
The run is very close to being done, just little patches of the wall to finish and a section of the roof. It’s a huge 20x60 area, we’re burned out. Oh and all the hay needs to be forked out.
It probably won’t happen until I’m better and can drag the Ginger out by the ear myself.

You talking about this part?

Yes!

ooooo crowds  unpleasant in every sense, if there were a way to go to fun events and be the only one there it would be amazing, hahah, I guess some people go to things to see and be around other people, maybe if I was rich enough I could find a way to arrange this (I'm lumping traffic in with crowds too) private plane to private concert with private chef and meal in private dining room, empty museums, empty shopping malls, amusement parks without lines, private movie premiers, private ski slopes, private beaches (all of these things with rum from my private distillery of course), private wine tastings at my private vineyard, I could keep going here, but I think you are on the same page.

Looks like an egg tooth that didn’t fall off to me.

I thought the egg tooth was on the tip of the beak. This chick is over a week old in this pic. It has a very obvious egg tooth while hatching but it's been gone. Is there more to the egg tooth than just the little spike on the end of the beak that they chip away with? If so my bad, i just always thought that's all there was to it.

Oh I’m on the same page alright.
The only thing worse than a crowd is a drunk crowd. :sick
