➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

DUDE. This is amaze-balls (a real term used to describe incredibly badass art). Sorry, there will be no one-upping by this gal! I ain't that good.
What size paper you use? Huge, I hope. Blown away, Tessie.
Agree, what a great pic. You should try selling them. We have all kinds of "fair type" things here where you can set up a table and sell great art work like your's, among other things. Bet you could make a little cash on the side. I would buy your art. :highfive:

I agree with @BantyChooks (we're sisters again) - raise them things outside! Much, much easier and it will save your sanity! I will never do ducklings inside every again. Blooie has a great article about the mama heating pad. I used her method with my last ducklings and it went beautifully. I'd rather have a broody duck to do all the work for me, but I've personally never owned a broody duck. Yet. One day. A girl can dream.
I used the heating pad method to hatch my last chick who had externally pipped, the broody had left the nest and poor guy was peeping away. It worked like a charm, placed him under mom after nightfall and there were no problems the next day. Highly recommend this if you have only one or two left in the nest who are close to hatching and mom is off the nest dealing with already hatched chicks (and have no bator). It was actually easy and fun.

He lived on all my margins in math class.

I’ve thought about commissions before.. but I have no idea what my art is worth, and the idea of failing deadlines and/or customer expectations is horrifying.

You don't necessarily have to do commissions. You could draw some up and take them somewhere to sell them. I've been to a few farmer's markets lately and one in particular has a lot of crafts. Wooden toys, knitted/crochet, art like photos and drawings, pet stuff (treats, bandanas, collars, blankets, etc.). So maybe draw some stuff up and get a booth? People eat up animal and scenic drawings lol farm animals would really fit in at a farmers market lol

I’ve never even been to a farmers market before haha. I’ll think about it, who knows. :idunno Maybe when I get better at art.

Art history is much better than taking college level art classes. I HATED all my college art classes. I didn't draw a single thing for almost a decade after college. Kinda like I stopped reading books for awhile after college. When you have to do it, it kinda takes the joy out.
Art history, on the other hand, is actually interesting!
Agreed.
I didn't even read a magazine article for years after I graduated. I guess that's what happens when you take 6 lit classes at the same time.

I’ve taken high school level before and I actually enjoyed it! That’s why I went ahead and chose this as opposed to ceramics which would have been fun too but I can’t paint anything correctly soo.. :gig

Ah, but you see, with ceramics you can use stamps and stencils and such.
I can't draw at all, but used to spend a lot of time at one of those "paint your own ceramics " places. I actually bought a monthly membership so that I could spend as long as I wanted there instead of paying hourly.
I suck at art, but I find doing stuff like that relaxing.

Do they not have them there? Or you just have enough of your own veggies? :p I have wayyyy too many tomatoes and pumpkins and a few peppers, an eggplant, and a strawberry (all being eaten lol). And way too much basil. So getting squash and blueberries is nice lol
