➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Thanks FD, yeah, haven't followed this thread very close! just peek in when it seems like somethings happening.
Hope you didn't push yourself too hard on the yardwork today.
How are your flocks doing? I know that you lost one recently. What all do you have now?

I am interested, but I'm also killing time until the quailies arrive.

This thread can be hard to follow. I missed one day and was 100+ pages behind. We also like having multiple conversations at once.
Yep, I go away 5 mins. and I totally can't follow what's going on ...have to go back through and read all the posts! :lau Glad I speed read!

Didn't push it, just mowed 2 acreas. Most of the birds are doing fine. Lost several the past couple of nights, finally trapped the culprits, baby raccoons! Didn't think anything can get through 1/2" HC but those little stinkers did :he...lost 7 juvenile Reeves and 4 Red goldens and 8 quail. Their paws were small enough to reach in and grab a hold of them an tear them apart! First night they tripped the traps but didn't get caught:thHave to re-think my security!
ETA still have over 300 birds!

How long has it been since the 6 externally pipped?
TOO DANG LONG!
I want popcorns NOW!

Let me think for a few minutes.

The first external pip was this morning around 8 am?

Staggered since then.

:yesss: You're only about 30 min away from me! I'll have to contact you about getting eggs later. I've always wanted to try duck eggs but I was too scared of getting accidental Balut from the Asian supermarkets. I also never know just how long the eggs were sitting out since they don't come in cartons.
Awesome! We have all kinds of eggs (and blue chicks for that new incubator of yours ;)) though we have a waiting list for chicken eggs but for duck eggs we only have one other person who buys them. :) We really need our pullets to get to laying age here soon but that’s so far!

In other news, we have a P-T tester coming next Saturday! We’ll then be all set for our NPIP certification. :wee Then we can start our out of state marketing for real. :D
