➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Was the waterer one of the standard quart size that they usually sell during chick season at the feedstores? Maybe try a quail base instead of the chick base? Less room for them to get in the water but even full sized chicks can still get their beaks in to drink.
Yeah it was one of the standard quarts.

Those are great! I really like the top one, is that quilted along the seams? I don't have the patience for quilting either, takes too long, especially hand quilting. I did do a couple of machine quilts but only very small, lap rug type things, mostly for my dog crates.

I used to make my dancing dresses years ago when I did competitive country dancing. I used calico fabric with bridesmaid patters. They were great. Haven't done much of anything crafty in a long time but I retired last November so I'm slowly getting into doing fun things that I never had time for before.

:oldWell.... I'm not sure if it's textbook or true to definition quilting honestly. You actually make the blocks individually with a back, batting and the top. You machine sew diagonally from right top corner to left lower and left upper to right lower. Once you have made all your squares, you lay two back to back and sew one edge together leaving about an inch of an edge to stick out toward the front. You continue this until you have a row, then connect the rows the same way. I guess the diagonal seams would be the only quilting (???:idunno) but it's all done by machine. Once it's all put together you cut up those inch overhangs of fabric and tiny strips and wash and dry it to get it to fray. I believe it would be really neat to quilt the individual squares with more intricate details, but I stuck to the super simple.

I'd love to see some of those country dresses and see if they match the images in my head! :fl

(I had to come back and edit this! There were so many typos! Geez!)
