➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I have. I believe she has had at least a quarter mL at this point.
Ok, just checking. It seems to give them a boost, or at least that's been my experience using it with weak chicks. Hope for the best with the little one! :fl

So mom just casually informed me that I have $93 dollars to use to buy more eggs.
But she capped me at a dozen an order. I just asked the seller if I could order another dozen.
I plan on saving the rest of the money to use to purchase eggs from different stock and breeds next spring. :)

If only I had enough money to import something specific :lau

:woot A dozen is still a chance! :) I hope your little chick starts getting better here soon.

You should also be sent extras to help account for being shipped eggs. I also believe in not writing anything in the box saying it has eggs. I did an experiment a few yrs ago one box with hatching eggs and one not. May have been coincident but the hatching egg box had scrambles in it. I highly suggest to people I send eggs to to not want hatching eggs written in the box cause I believe it brings unwanted attention. People can be cruel

Thank you! I am trying everything I possibly can and am really pulling for her :fl

I think I saw where you said she is drinking but not eating...have you tried turning her chick starter into a slurry with the nutridrench to see if you can get her to "drink" anything that would give her more nourishment? Just a stray thoughtie....

Brilliant idea! I will try that in a few hours! :) Thanks for the suggestion. She picked at hard boiled egg but did not eat it.

Y'all! Thanks to a facebooker I learned which birds are used for feather hair extensions! They are called genetic hackle bred roosters. Or just genetic hackle roosters. You've got to look them up if you haven't seen them. They're incredible! They're also used for fly fishing lures. And it is true the birds are harvested and skinned to collect the feathers!:hit
So it used to be they would save the roos hackles when they butchered them...when I was a kid there was ads in the paper a couple times a year looking for squirrel tail and hackle feathers.. after trapping season they were looking for fur pelts too.
