I can understand that. Yes, that stupid fluffy golden has gotten me through some rough stuff, he is much more than a dog to me.
More like a therapist that I pay with dog food.
On that note, sometimes I forget just how much untrained dogs suck. My in-laws have two weenie dogs and I was ready to kill them by the time we got done housesitting. They barked at everything just for the hell of it. Begged for our food constantly, and if you tell them to buzz off they just give you the stupidest, most idiotic dull-eyed look. One whistles/whimpers for attention when nobody is paying attention to him. The other wouldn’t stop growling at me to which hubby dismissed as “oh she’s just old!”
Uh uh. Triumph is old. Old is not a free pass to acting like an ass.
They hardly know their NAMES. And if they do (I’m honestly not sure) they’ve learned that they can just ignore you and walk away. Not even a turn of the head. I’m getting pissed just thinking about it—in that sense, I 100% agree. NO dog of mine will EVER think he or she is in charge.
I know they say that you’re always going to see the best in your own dog but seriously, it floors me how people can tolerate behavior like that. My goofballs might as well be a military trained bomb dogs in comparison.
