➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

If you can, you should look up and buy a flight cage. But there are minimum size requirements online but obviously the more room the better. And finches and parakeets need a lot horizontal flying room whereas something like a cockatiel needs more vertical climbing space. Which is why I don't like the teeny cages sold. But if you can let them out occassionally to fly that works too

It's this big

This is for finches.

“A minimum of 32 x 20 x 20 (81 x 50 x 50 cm) per pair of birds is recommended with about four perches, feed and water dishes and an area for a bath. When you use a small cage, you must let your pet out daily to fly around.”

It’s the same rules as chickens. Bigger is better, and don’t listen to anyone who’s trying to sell you something.

I've always wanted some of those little rainbow birds in bright colours that I see at pet stores.

My pet store is good, I like it. No dogs, no cats, and the rabbits/guinea pigs/birds are VERY well cared for. Impeccable cages with plenty of enrichment, companionship, and appropriate vet care when ill. The employees care for them like their own, and I know of at least one parrot that isn't for sale anymore, they're keeping it. The fish tanks always look cleaner than my own drinking water.
