➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

all correct. The thing about these is they don't breed true. They will always throw all colors however they will never or shouod I say have never threw anything that looked lile another breed. That's why I like them you never know how they are gonna come out. And on top of that they change color with each molt till about 2yrs old. Really neat. You can throw those genetic books out the window with these. And yes people have been proven wrong about how it (supposed to) work.

That is neat. So that being said about the different colors, was the bird I liked more lavender colored like I was thinking or are my eyes and phone playing tricks on me?

Also, Is it like a complete *gasp* "NOOO!!" Taboo thing for a person to have one of these crazy cool roos to breed with their mutts if they aren't breeding for any particular purpose other than hobby? For the record this is not me trying to obtain one I'm just honestly curious. Do you ever sell your less than ideal roos as opposed to cull them?:pop

I would have said more of a silver with a lavender hue if that makes sence.

I can't be anymore opposed to crossing games and layers cause to me any non game is absolutely detrimental to the gamefowl once it's in it can't be taken out and I believe every chick past the initial cross should be culled as in killed. You gotta understand the gamecock is to me a dying breed with cockfighting being illegal and I (we) gamefowl keepers want to keep them as the regal, prideful courageous animal he is as much as we can and not just some lawn ornaments. You really have to raise some from the brooding mom to her children becoming the magnificent creature they are. And it goes for all the gamefowl breeds and families. People have put literally human generations to get what they have and literally 1 breeding can ruin all that.

Now with all that said you do what you do. I'm not saying people would intentionally cross and sell as pure games to unknowing people but there's alot of peddlers out there that would ruin them for a dollar. What if someone crossed them then gave or sold a few and a few generations down someone got a hold of a chicken that looked like a gamecock but wasn't and wanted to make a quick buck

What is everyone up to?
Lindi has a decent amount more energy after being fed some more. She is "sitting" up. I did an eye check on her because I noticed she was acting a little blind. She appears to be blind in her left eye but can see in her right eye. Her left eye failed the light test multiple times.

Gator pooped right in a garden thing on the walk lol he NEVER goes on walks or if he does, definitely not in a garden, so I didn't bring any bags. So I had to walk Gator back to the house, get a grocery bag (partially because we don't have any dog poop bags and partially because he is a literal BEAR and those likely wouldn't work anyway) and walk all the way back down to get it. And when I was walking down there I saw this guy with a dog or two partly up the street. I hope he didn't see the poop lol oh well

Pooped right in that island. :barnie

Fair enough. Your birds are beautiful. The coal eyes mesmerized me :love

Also he was breathing really heavy by the end of the driveway and my dad says he was last night too (he took him) and they cut across the yard on the way back and he laid down and wouldn't move so he tied him up and a while later he was still out there but did finally get him up. He didn't lay down for me but my dad also gave him a steroid this morning. But he also didn't notice there was a fox by the chicken pen despite my dad trying to wake him up. I don't think he's doing so well.
