My spring EEs are also 20 weeks. Expecting first eggs by Thanksgiving.
Last year we did that. But they are Leghorns.
I'm hopeful.

They absolutely have to be. They literally have nothing meaningful in life to do, instead they troll amongst the live feed comments and spew their nonsense and disgusting sayings.

That’s when I’m expecting our EE to lay. She’s so immature compared to the heritage breeds.

I guess we can try it! It’s not like we have anything to lose at this point. Our problem is that she doesn’t eat very much (she’s our dominant hen so it’s not a pecking order thing) she just picks at whatever we throw out there. Free-range from 6 am to whenever they go to bed, always have 20% starter available, mealworms as treats, some scratch, and sometimes we throw fruits and veggies out there. She’s our hardkeeper.

I hope I haven't lost the thread here. I think you are talking of a molting hen who is having the problems? I've had hens do a hard molt that I wasn't sure were going to make it. They stop eating, they hang out by themselves, they sleep in nest boxes. All of mine have eventually pulled through, but it has made be appreciate how hard molting can be.

I think the canned salmon is a great idea -- basically some extra protein.

Yup. They do here. Not for your every day house hunters, like local realty. But for land plots by big developments like that they will. They always sound so cheap and I think to myself, man if only I had the ability/finances. But they're usually out in East TN, which is beautiful. I'm in Middle TN, so they're @ 3-4hr drive away and just isn't feasible for me.

You have to really really look at those properties that that company sells. A lot of the time there's something that will prevent you from building on it. Here in Canada a lot of it is actually crown land (government owned).
