➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

She is a beautiful young lady, thank you very much!
Besides the missing leg, she’s also mid-shed right now (you can see lighter fresh skin at the base of her tail), and a little underweight. A bit scruffy, but still a sweetheart.
Wait what? Missing a leg...what happened?

That one. Where you say,"we acquired through a strange series of event".
It isn't like Florida where you find iguanas laying all over the front yard. Bearded Dragons, unlike iguanas, don't fall from trees on every cold day and let you put them in your shopping trolley.

Oh! Duh. Not strange in a good story kind of way, unfortunately.
Mother in law follows tons of Facebook rescue pages and saw this reptile rescue guy had two beardies for adoption. She adopted them both (bleeding heart) but the girl was being bullied away from food, so she called and asked if I would take her if she could find a cheap tank/beardie supplies for us. I said sure, not expecting it to work out since start-up supplies easily run into the hundreds. Next day I’m in hospital and before I know it, it’s the day after getting out and she’s dropping off a 40gal tank with our little lady. Pleasant surprise!
I was sick with a fever for a week after getting out with an infection from my IV site, hence the name.

She was kept in a tiny little tank with like 50 other young dragons. Lots of toes were bitten off, her entire leg was chomped, etc. She gets around just find though, it’s pretty funny how she goes from fat toad lady to master hunter in a split second.

@Tesumph - Thank you for the story. IV now makes sense. Why did you bring home an infection? That's what you get for taking your robe off and sleeping in strange places.
:gig Hospitals are strange. Everybody is on something.

Rescue sites - now that is something we need to stay away from. Good when you are looking. Evil when you don't want anything.

So, it has been raining here for 3 weeks. The yard is a quagmire and the dogs aren't mopping the kitchen. How do you train a dog to mop the kitchen? :smack
