➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I could process my injured quail tonight with the pipe cutters and report back?
Yes do it!

And I wasn't planning on doing this right now, I was going to cage them and withhold feed til morning and do it then but it just happened.
I not longer believe that withholding feed makes a difference with quail because them eating all day didn't do anything.
(I don't even know what it is supposed to do.)

I used baling twine to make leg shackles... gets a bit messy though.
I can deal with messy..the guts and blood and stuff don't bother me.
It's really just the feeling them, the touching/holding, having to feel it with me hands.

Makes the guts less disastrous to nick. When I processed without withholding feed, there was some poop at the vent that was not-fun to get out of the way without it getting in the abdominal cavity.

Maybe we got lucky this time.
Zero guts busted open. No poop to be seen.
I almost opened the intestines just to look but decided not too.

I don't mind that bit, but the bigger birds can really bruise you up if you hold their feet for the death throes. Ow.
