15 week old pullet in front. All of our babies mature fast.

Kiki, remember the babies I hatched when Street Food original did? Here is them now :hit so grown up!

Whoooooops! Steering back to boy. That comb and wattles at 9 weeks? :th

That comb and wattles have been around since week 2 or so. Aren't the barred males more white? So yes. That is why I'm asking. The hatch mate has almost no comb and no wattles showing.

Again, we are just now learning the giant has sunflower seeds and you get more if you get closer.

I'll work on standing pictures. No apparent hackles yet.

They are the crossbred ones, so this one received only one barring gene. For true barred breeds you are right that they are more white but that’s because they get two barring genes, while females only get one like this little one did which is why it’s darker like a female but I would still have to say boy.

Does that make sense?

Makes perfect sense. The rooster isn't barred, so the offspring will only get it from the hen. Therefore, a half barred cockerel. Waiting for first crow. Hopefully, he will be a late bloomer and get fat.

Thank you for the insight.

Kiki - I'd love for him to lay eggs, but won't be able to wait that long.

I was going to ask if the rooster was barred. Yup it’s a sexlink then. A solid rooster crossed over a barred hen will produce boys born with headspots and girls with no headspot.
