My brother has had the grandkid all these years, she is in college now.. on a scholarship. loans and working as a lifeguard
His 2 daughters I paid for junior college tuition to get them started. I offered for the grandkid but the junior college wasn't good enough LOL I think she has been spoiled.. I could work enough overtime to pay for junior college but not a private college ..The youngest daughter took loans also to go to the same private catholic school. She is still in school too and is almost 30.. They will be in debt for a long time I think.
They live in another state so i have only seen the nieces a couple of times. I like being a hermit

That’s awesome she’s doing so well for herself!! And I think there are more and more people in school till a later age and/or going back to school as an adult these days

This isn't the greatest video of her, yes I am saying her, voice. She is so skittish and doesn't trust right now. But I have heard her officially quack. No rasp and loud. She has a deep quack like my Xena. Anyway, I am very confident in saying it is a she. Now I have to come up with a name for her and try to get her to learn to trust me. We have Noah, Xena and Luna. I asked my hubby how about Maya? He said NO. I said Reba? He said NO. PFFT! How about Darla? He said do huh? I said Darla. Like from the little rascals. (it was a smidge before my time but am still familiar with the show. Am showing my age here lol). He said Maybe. We'll come up with something.

You posted that as my dog was licking my arm. I’ve grown up with dogs and cats licking me though, never had any issues. I wonder if her immune system had been compromised at the time of the bacterial contraction

I have always been fine too. It could have been! But I think the difference is that she had an open sore. She burnt her foot and let her puppy lick it. The article is kind of confusing because it is very broken up with ads but the article is fairly long and continues after all the pictures and ads, I kept thinking it was the end lol but I think as long as you don’t have an open sore you are fine. But I am definitely going to be letting the dogs lick me a lot less!! Lol

I grew up with constant wounds all over my arms and legs (who am I kidding, I still have them always ) and the dogs would lick them. Honestly they would heal better than those that didn't get any attention from them, but that could be just circumstantial.

Huh, that’s odd. The article did mention one soldier who was in a coma for 6 weeks after letting a dog lick his wounds. So maybe you just have an amazing immune system lol

It’s possible! Human bacteria have mutated. Antibiotic resistant strains and such.

I don’t get sick too often so maybe.

The soldier could have been in a country where medical care was less than adequate. They didn’t really state where these things happened.
