You guys got me all excited about growing plants, tomorrow I'm going to pick up seeds and pots to plant them in before transplanting.

Me too!!! I can take about one month of winter before I start getting stir crazy to plant again. What are you going to plant?

Gotta love cute little pullet eggs! Finding new eggs never gets old. Heck, finding eggs at all never gets old to me!
I have three young ladies living with Nibbler (the bunny) in the greenhouse for the winter. I am so excited for them to start laying. Two are EE and the other is a light Brahma. Hoping for some brown eggs this time, like yours!

I agree, it never gets old. It's just so darn cute! Perfectly shaped, just miniature. My very first egg, I thought it was a fake. Seriously I did. I thought my FIL came over (he lives right next door to us) or my hubby put a fake one in the box before he left for work to play a joke on me because it was so little. It was too funny. I get a combination of light brown/beige eggs to nude (almost pinkish looking) colored. I want to get a few more girls that will give me some pretty blue/green/olive eggs. Maybe one that will give me a darker/richer brown. Just for diversity. How old are your 3? Are they close to laying?

They are about 16 weeks so I've still got a month or more to wait. I'm sure it'll go quickly.
I have two EE hens now that lay almost every day. One blue and one green. I have an old Welsummer hen that lays about once every five days or so. Her eggs vary from super dark with freckles to really pale brown. My Bantam Cochin girls lay cream colored eggs. I want more brown!!! Or that almost pink you're talking about... sounds lovely!

I'm starting tomatoes, peppers (banana & jalapeño) & brassicas. The cauliflower that we grew last year was sweet! Couldn't believe it. The broccoli was broccoli. Not excited about it. Got purple broccoli seeds for Christmas.

In February, start salad greens and hope it stays warm enough, but no freeze. We can freeze in February too.

We’re going to get carrots, lettuces, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and maybe some other squash. I want to try the regrow method with some romaine, bok choy, and green onions as well.

Awesome. What kind of squash? Delicious winter squash from the butternut family? Or filthy summer squash, like zucchini ?

I tried this salad mix last yr that didn't do anything. And I tried spinach, it didn't produce either. Anyone here ever grow asparagus? And I want some watermelons. I had a couple grow but never to the ripen point. I tried to grow crenshaw melons I think they were. I've never had them before. Tons of green leafy stuff but no melons. We tried to make sure by measuring out adequate space for the crops but I still think we didn't do enough. Maybe some stuff got choked out or nutrients got too thin. Idk. We're going to try again and hopefully we will have better luck.

I grow Charentais melons every year. I save seed from my biggest and ripest melon every year. They are just a little guy, just over a half pound each, but boy are they ever delicious and so sweet! I tried watermelons once, but we just don't have the season up here for it so they never ripened.
Melons are super heavy feeders so maybe your soil was just a little depleted after all the vine growth? I use a lot of poopy straw that builds up in the duck pen over the winter, rabbit poop and tons of egg shells that I save year round. I just toss bunny turds on everything throughout the season
