Blech. I live in a high saturation doodle zone. My sister has a Goldendoodle. He's insane. Completely calm until he randomly goes into a mental breakdown mode and chews his fur down to the skin, then licks the skin until it bleeds. Or "goes dark", as they call it, and won't move or eat for a week. Or randomly attacks another dog for walking too close to him. Plus, their hair is disgusting. It absorbs filth and requires heavy grooming.I was never for the latest craze BUT I met a goldendoodle the other day she was cool. I'd like to have one but too rich for my blood
I've met countless doodles of all mixes. Only one of them was what I would call a mentally healthy dog. I love mutts, but the majority of doodles that I've met seem to get the worst traits from whatever breeds go into making them. I'm sure some of that has to do with how they are raised, but I also believe that a lot of traits are genetic. Pretty funny, too, that people will shell out thousands of dollars for a legit mutt.
