➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Dressed like a total dork this morning but hoping it will help with the ticks :lau

I actually did the socks over pants thing yesterday but still got one on my back so trying the shirt tucked in thing today too.

What would really help is some bug spray/deet but I keep forgetting to grab some.

But I have literally gotten 3-4 ticks this weekend so far.

Yeah, I found some at their house lol figured they probably had some somewhere and looked since we’re family friends anyway and I know they wouldn’t mind (would never look through a clients house otherwise). Found it pretty quick under the bathroom sink ha second place I looked. although it’s funny, today is the last day. Never thought of repellent until the last day and only after being hit the other 3 days lol

Very hot and muggy/humid today so we are not doing much. Might take them swimming later. Was supposed to also do Frank and Libby today because FSIL had a meeting out of town but that got canceled and she was on her way home this morning so now I am doing tomorrow instead since that’s when the meeting got moved to.

What does 'stocked larder' mean?

Did anyone ever figure out why there isn't a synonym for thesaurus?
Yes! All of that!
We dehydrate fruits and vegetables and I process meats for canning. I also can/preserve a lot from the garden.
We have an outside wood burning stove should we be without power so I can make coffee and prepare meals....like a camping trip.
And yes, @Texas Kiki I stock up on toilet paper and paper plates, etc.

Oh I hate nighttime tornadoes as well. We live in a bit of a valley. I call it DFB, which stands for Da Friggin Bubble. Oft times weather systems pass over or around us and I would joke that it's like we're in a bubble. So much so that one time in particular, you could literally see it on the radar. A weather system all around us lit up in green and a clear circle where we were located. It totally freaked my husband out and sent me in a fit of giggles and "I told you so's". Anyway, a few yrs back, I woke up in the middle of the night/really early in the morning to use the bathroom. It was storming. And I heard a noise that had been described but so many people over the yrs. It sounded like a freight train. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, getting louder and louder. Everyone was asleep but me. It came down the driveway and turned along the creek going the opposite direction from my home. All I did was pray. Just a couple pics from that storm. We were lucky.

So glad that ya'll are able to prepare ahead of time! We didn't have a clue. Plz be careful and safe! :hugs:fl
 Glad you were safe!
That is exactly what we don't want here!
Growing up in Oklahoma Tornado alley, we knew to be cautious about the weather. We have better technology predicting storms now than back when I was a child. Thankfully we have storm trackers who do a great job. We also have a tv station that is locally and privately owned that produces local weather around the clock during events like this.

The chicks are already 3 weeks old today and they are getting so big! :hit
