➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

No rain here either. There's no snow pack on the mountains either. Going to be a rough fire year.
Apples, plums, cherries, Asian pears. Those are the trees. I have a ton of blueberries, and an onslaught of raspberries. The golden raspberries are my favorites and are a highly prolific everbearing variety. Adding in some elderberries, and hoping for a some hardy kiwi action.
Lost a couple plums this year. Part of the reason that I'm moving the chickens to the orchard. Clean up them bugs, ladies!
I don't blame you. I'd be itching to be settled before messing with a garden.
You have a great fruit variety!
I can't seem to get a cherry tree past the first year here. I've tried five different varieties.

Elderberry warning! Pick a site where you can mow around them or can let them go wild...
They are slow to get established but will bloom the first season. Then they take off like mad about year three. Mine spread from one 16 foot row of eight transplants to filling the 4 X 16 foot bed by season three.
Then like a monster sent roots out in all directions! Tried to fill 2/3 of the 16 X 20 bed and the lawn around sending runners up into the next 4 X 16 foot bed.
I was constantly having to dig out roots to plant other veggies.
Since the original source is in the back pasture, I had the boys rip out the bushes in the garden. Now I'll be digging/killing the root remnants that sprout.
In my freezer are 10 gallons of frozen berries from last year.
That first photo is the mass of bushes and a flower panicle.
