This seems like a pretty good deal? Since it comes with the trailer? Although the pictures are extremely dark and really can’t see anything which seems oddly convenient/slightly suspicious?

I suspect it's a $4,000 trailer and a free horse. Said horse is definitely not broke, maybe bad with farriers (based off hoof condition---they seem a bit underrun, unless the shavings are obscuring actual hoof angle,) and would most likely be hard to sell in a hurry if they hadn't thrown in a deal like a trailer. Unbroke, dark-coloured stock horses abound in the "used horse" market, at least around here, and those actually wanting to go to the effort of training their own horse or finding a trainer for it (and paying the associated $$$) are at least potentially likely to be going to a breeder instead where they can be certain of their background. She seems to be built at least not badly---though her shoulder seems a bit steep, and she might be built a bit downhill---but she's not squared up and I'm not the best at horse conformation in the first place.

Plus, I see rust on the trailer, so it's not new. Maybe the person just needs the horse out now, and has a trailer they're not using any longer; or the trailer is rusted out, the horse is unmanageable and/or lame and they're trying to get rid of both for some cash while they still can. "Super healthy" isn't very specific, and most people selling horses with good feet tend to specify that. Those would be best-case and worst-case scenarios, respectively.

Thank you!! This is really helpful. I don’t really know too much about horses so this is useful. Never even really thought of those potential scenarios though haha you’re probably exactly right about all of it in which case it’s definitely not a good deal at all??? Not that I need or can even get a horse anyway, was just browsing and curious about that one haha

Definitely not a good deal for someone new to horses.

Yeah I would probably be in way over my head. Figured it was a no go though especially when I read she wasn’t only two. I knew right then she can’t be broke or trained. I need an older horse, I do know that much haha like at least 10. I know a bit, rode off and on as a kid, most recent was about 4 or 5 years ago, and I got pretty good that time, rode for a little while and rode a lot of different horses other people didn’t, including some young ones, but definitely don’t know anywhere near enough to break a two year old haha

They all sound too good to be true and amazing and perfect so I need to learn how to cut through that and see the truth in ads haha not that they're all actually secretly horrible horses and monsters or anything like that but all horses have flaws.

Got the news today that the BIL is facing his cancer again...in the lungs including a lymph node, now lower spine, and his colon. Each location will require its own form of chemotherapy. Cancer is now stage 4. They had 10 months of quality life after his last rounds of chemo and radiation....rough road ahead. Prayers for them would be appreciated.
