Love the pups! Love making soap!
It was a blast! It was my first time making artisan soap, and my mum’s first time making soap at all.
She’s gone crazy with power. She texted me the next day saying she was up all night researching and buying soap supplies... LOL. We’re planning on many more soap making days together, and I’m working on making some labels for our soaps with my graphic design knowledge. Nothing crazy, but we want to give them out at Christmas and maybe sell the extras at her school or whatever.

I’m just thrilled that my momma has a new creative hobby, and I’m so excited to spend time with her in our future “business.” (hehe).
She deserves all of the soapy happiness and more.
This pops up on my FB Marketplace. I wonder if you could turn it into a brooder or quail cage? Yes the back has some cutouts for plumbing etc. Just needs to be tweaked, right? Forget the vanity top. Just frame out with hardware cloth if doing a brooder or put a simple roof on for weather. Tweak the front doors with HC panels for ventilation. Paint or stain. So many ideas. I think I have a problem lol.

I’m jealous! I’ve been searching Craigslist high and low for something like this that I can convert into a bearded dragon tank.
I’ve had no luck, so I convinced my father in law to help me build one from scratch. He can’t resist, I’m just that great of a daughter in law... muahahaha!

At some point you have to stop thinking about doing and just do it.
This is probably what I struggle with the most. I worry myself into the ground and try to convince myself that progressing isn’t worth the effort and hassle.

I think a lot of people end up spinning their tires because there’s no pressure or drive to better themselves. Sometimes you just have to make decisions and stick to your guns; the kinks will work themselves out as your work ethic and confidence in your abilities grows.

The sky patrol was out in force this evening collecting high flying bugs. For awhile it looked like there were at least fifty of them.

Well I don’t exactly have plans, but I scribbled down the general idea of it just for you! It’s kind of a wild project that I’ve been chewing over for quite some time.
Spoiler because I imagine most of you don’t care about bearded dragon tanks?

There’s tons of plans for DIY dragon tanks online, but I want mine to look like an actual, nice piece of furniture. Go big or go home.

Main points:
-frame and shelving will be made from “shelving boards,” (cheap) sanded and painted
-the very top piece will be real stained wood that will ultimately be removable (see below)
-four 10x10 inch cubby holes on bottom, sized for storage baskets
-one 20x16 inch storage hole in the middle; was going to be a double door, but now I’m thinking it’s too narrow for that
-the actual tank is up top, accessible by a sliding glass door on the front (two 20x24 inch glass panels on a sliding door track)
-lighting will be mounted inside the tank and wires will be run upward into a false ceiling. Wire compartment false ceiling will be accessible from above through the real wooden top, that I’ll make removable by making “notches” for it to sit in (confusing, I know)
-tank ventilation is still up for debate; probably going to make one long, narrow mesh screen “window” on the back and silicone/frame it in
-tank floor will be slate tile, grouted in
-tank walls will be lined with faux wood linoleum, and corners sealed with aquarium silicone

Inspiration (keep in mind that I haven’t found any pictures of anything quite like what I’m doing, I’m mostly winging it):

Neat! Looks like the center door on the lower sample
cabinet is a sliding door also.

We finally caught the huge raccoon that has been raiding the carport and getting into the cat food storage can. It was a whopper.

Yesterday started sorting out the bigger cockerels from the hen flock while it was still cool. Put 25 including the rapist in a butcher pen. Will fatten them up for processing in small groups.
Then in the heat, I moved the duck house in the garden and enclosed a big section of the grass area for them. Used the Kubota tractor and got it so muddy from the old play area that I had to wash the tractor. Then I mowed the garden and yards.

It is supposed to get to 104 today, but I need to strip the last of the pears off the two trees and start the canning process.
BBL....
