I definitely am missing out lol. My entire childhood was spent with constant stomach aches. I was getting tests and seeing gastroenterologists but I didn’t connect the dots until I was 18-19.. such a simple solution but it blew my mind.
“How could you not realize such a huge food trigger?”
Well, for example, chocolate milk really upsets my stomach. The logical answer was that I was sensitive to dairy. Nope! Powder and liquid chocolate flavoring makes me very sick.
Same with frosting. I would get sick at every birthday party. It sucked.
Every thanksgiving and Christmas, like clockwork, I would get very ill 1/4 of the way into our amazing meal and could barely touch my plate. My parents thought I was just a picky eater, or the smells were making me queasy. Nope! We have a tradition of cracking sparking fruit juices that we only drink during the holidays. A couple sips and I’m out. Mystery solved too late, so many holiday dinners ruined.

About a year ago it ruined a fancy date night at an expensive restaurant. I had no idea that wine would make me so sick.
Many of my favorite foods are high in fructose. Mangoes, gummy bears, cider, banana bread, literally
anything with semi-sweet chocolate chips..
Some stuff you would have no idea. Cobblers, some cereals, tomato paste, barbecue sauce, coconut milk, snap peas, brown sugar.. to name a few. It’s not like you can find the fructose percentage on an ingredient label.
So yea, it sucks, and I’m missing out. And that’s my rant about that.
But hey, who needs a diet when cake will go right through you? Lol.
