➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Oh gosh no, not hurtful at all ya goober.
You just happened to open a can of worms about something I don’t get to complain about often.
Sorry for the rant! :gig

Oh okay well phew! That’s a relief lol I just felt bad cause I’m sure you’ve heard that “you’re not missing out”, “it’s all processed crap anyway” stuff a million times! And I think most people, myself included, don’t realize that’s not true. That it can be regular foods too.

And don’t worry! I liked learning about it actually haha I had no clue that was a thing or that that stuff was in so many foods so I liked hearing about it haha

She is a cute little loaf.
She looks extremely similar to my old best friend’s cat. I can feel my allergies playing up from here LOL.

Thank you! I think so too. :love

And oh boy :lau I actually am technically allergic to her too but I keep her around anyway.

When I was a kid we had an allergy person tell me I was allergic to gerbils, cats, and dogs and I wasn’t supposed to have either. My brother is also allergic to cats and dogs. Not sure about gerbils.

Anyway...

Guess what?

I’ve had all three. :lau

Well, I’ve never technically had gerbils myself but we had gerbils as a class pet in third grade so I was around them and I’ve had a bunny. And we’ve always had cats and dogs.

I think I grew out of the allergy.

My brother however is still pretty allergic and gets all stuffed up and sick when he comes home because of her.

But that said, we were both mostly fine with our last cat who was short haired and fine with dogs.

Even with long haired, fluffy dogs like Franklin I am fine. I can bury my head in their fur and be totally fine. I think I might be slightly allergic to the saliva though. I always feel kinda weird after they kiss me haha

But anyway, with Mittens I was fine and outgrew the allergy but with Luna I still haven’t even after 9 years. I am mostly fine 99% of the time now but I can’t hold her too close to my face because her fluff will get all in my eyes, nose, mouth, and irritate me. Especially since she sheds like crazy too!! It’s ridiculous!! So with her fluff flying all around, I’ll start sneezing or coughing.

So I try not to get her near my face too much or let the fluff fly :lau

I stick to petting her head mostly lol she likes it better anyway.

The potato loaf moved to the other side of the bed to be closer to me :love

I’m allergic to cats and horses. :th
Thankfully not dogs or any pocket pets. I think I would die.

OMG that sounds so awful!! I am so sorry. :hugs

And I am also very sorry for my extremely insensitive, ignorant, and I am sure hurtful comment. I honestly hadn’t even thought about birthday cakes or ruined holidays or all the foods it could be hidden in that most people wouldn’t think of or maybe would take for granted. I guess I figured it’d be mostly the really processed or packaged stuff that was a problem. Didn’t even think of some of those foods/beverages listed. But you know what they say about assuming things. I should have asked you about it or thought before speaking so I am sorry. :hugs
Glad you figured it out.
Food intolerances suck
People who don't have any have a hard time understanding.
I have issues watching others enjoy what I can't have.
2012 I found out I was intolerant of 27 foods. Wheat and dairy are my main issues

Well I can eat anything I want.. with consequences lmao.

I can’t have things that are higher in fructose than they are in glucose, including but not limited to: fruit juice concentrate, corn syrup, most artificial sweeteners, honey, and most fruits.

The texture of cottage cheese and chunky applesauce would probably make me gag. :sick
I'm gagging just reading about it.

Horses too!? OMG that’s awful!! I don’t think I’m officially allergic to horses but all the fur/being at the barn did bug me somewhat when I used to horseback ride. But I also have asthma so idk if it’s that or allergies or what. But I could be around them and stuff, it just wasn’t exactly great haha

And yeah I think I would too. For a while I was thinking of getting gerbils anyway :lau but I think even if I’m not officially allergic, the dust of most pocket pets would bug me.

I’m glad I’m not allergic to dogs anymore though. I think I might cry haha although I guess I could slay just get a poodle or something if I was??

Glad you figured it out.

I think this was meant for @Tesumph ??

But 27!?!?! Wow! :th

That sounds awful!!!

Is that why you mostly only eat/grow your food or would you do that anyway??
